About this property

Quiet mornings by the river

A private romantic guesthouse with a vintage Scandinavian farmhouse touch, directly on the Catskill Creek. Enjoy morning coffee by the water or cook dinner in the wood-fired outdoor oven – firewood provided. The full kitchen is well stocked with olive oil, spices, and cookware. Great eats listed in our guidebook too. Your perfect base for swimming, fishing, bird watching, hiking, grilling by the beach fire pit, or simply relaxing with a movie in bed. Just two hours from GW Bridge, 20 min from scenic Hudson, 8 min from Hannaford grocery store and wine shop.

Step through the massive French oak doors into a space where tranquility and comfort meet. Inside, vintage objects with history blend seamlessly with natural materials rich in warmth. Modern amenities complement the charm – fast internet, a Sonos Bluetooth speaker, convenient USB-A and USB-C charging outlets, and a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.

The first floor is designed for gathering – where conversation, cooking, and dining flow together at the heart of the space, illuminated by the warmth of a unique candle fireplace. Classic board and card games invite post-dinner fun. In the bathroom, a ten-foot ceiling frames the brass shower, where Turkish towels, soft bathrobes, eucalyptus aromatherapy, and Woodbury & Co. products await – along with a handy first aid kit. Step into the garden and discover a stunning elevated private terrace, crowned by the wood-fired oven, complimentary stacked firewood, and a dining area overlooking the creek below.

Upstairs, the second floor is dedicated to rest and restoration. The queen bed sits on its own raised platform beneath the round window – a perfect spot to watch a movie on a 72 inch pull down screen with an HD projector loaded with Netflix and Prime. Read, practice yoga, or simply open the windows and let the sounds of woodland crickets and rushing water lull you to sleep. Each bedside includes a universal charger for iPhones (12–17) and Galaxy phones (S23–S24).

Set on four private acres, the cottage is surrounded by wilderness, abundant wildlife, and sweeping mountain views. Behind the cottage, a woodland path leads to the river beach – softly lit at night with warm lights connecting the cottage to the creek. Light a bonfire in the stone fire pit (firewood is complimentary and conveniently stacked nearby), take a swim, drift along the river in the provided tubes, breathe in the crisp forest air, and embrace the quiet serenity of this hidden gem. Whether you’re sharing a homemade meal, unwinding under star-filled skies, or recharging by the fire, this is a place to reconnect with nature – and yourself.

In summer, enjoy outdoor games including pickleball, badminton, volleyball, boule, and corn hole.
The main house sits next door, yet the cottage remains completely private. We work flexible schedules, and when we’re on the property, we’re happy to offer assistance, local recommendations, and, when available, fresh vegetables and eggs from our own on-site mini-farm.

The property is protected from grazing deer by a seven-foot-tall fence, yet the cul-de-sac and river are easily accessible through four discreetly placed gates. The fence is designed to support biodiversity by providing habitat, blending naturally into the landscape without disrupting the beautiful views.
