The house was the way it was described. Except for a few things. It needs a deep clean, from top to bottom. The wooden floors were dirty when we entered but I was able to sweep it with the given supplies in the upstairs closet. The outside plug on the back porch didn’t work so the hanging lights weren’t on. Ants on the porches were crazy. Literally have ant bites on our feet and legs. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans and other useful things. The linens and towels were clean.

We apologize that the floors did not meet our usual standards upon arrival and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We’ll also have our maintenance team inspect the outdoor outlet and follow up with our pest control company regarding the ants. Our properties receive routine professional pest treatments, but unfortunately, our warm coastal environment can still contribute to occasional pest activity, especially outdoors. They hosts were great adjusting our dates when I made a mistake which I am grateful for. Overall the house met out basic needs. The area was safe and convenient to Mustang Island Beach. The house is pet friendly and had plenty of space for our family if 4. It's not fancy but it did the job. However, it could use some basic mantenance updates. It would have been nice to have a grill, games, and basic beach items such as chairs. Most houses we've rented in the area have these things. There are 3 balcony/decks but only 1 has seating. We would have loved to have a spot to hang out on the upstairs back balancy as it has a great sunset view. Also, the house us musty smelling which is concerning. It may just be the area since it's on a pond and it's a high humidity area.

Beach chairs and other items are available through the program and simply need to be reserved prior to arrival. As a coastal community, Port Aransas experiences high humidity year-round, especially near the beautiful ponds and waterways that surround many homes.
