Our family had a lovely stay in this beautiful home located in the non-burn area of Pacific Palisades. The hosts were very responsive and communicative. Kitchen is well stocked and the beds were comfortable.
So the location and some features of the listing wasnt accurate but the experience we had made up for all of it. The management team was always responsive, and the house is beautiful and functioning. The house was really clean, and the pool and deck layout was perfect for daytime, nighttime, gatherings etc. The theater was much better than the listing, we wanted to sleep in there bc it was so amazing and better than a true theater. We loved all the amenities and the features of the house like the sauna in the master bath! We would stay again if we return.
We rented this house for my daughter's 50th birthday weekend over Labor Day and it was a perfect fit for our group. Overall, this house is spectacular and absolutely beautiful. Would definitely consider staying here again. Thanks for such a fabulous weekend!!Pros: Easy to get to in the Palisades; gorgeous views with floor to ceiling windows; 3 floors; spacious rooms; allowed for indoor/outdoor space; elevator to the 2nd floor was great for schlepping suitcases down to bedrooms; blackout shades in the bedrooms; heated pool was delightful; chef's kitchen was great for our chef & caterer to use & cook in; communication with property manager was prompt and easy; didn't get to use the movie theater, but it looked amazing!Cons: Listing should be updated for 6 full bathrooms & 1 powder room and 2 double beds in the 1st floor bedroom (would have been helpful when figuring out our rooming vs a king bed as listed) and elevator only goes to 2nd floor, so 1st floor guests need to take their luggage down the stairs; more detailed written instructions on heating the pool & hot tub (hot tub did not heat up the whole weekend), gas fireplaces, movie theater, elevator & outside/pool lights; would have loved the ability to tap into the built-in wireless speaker system for music; no water filter in the fridge - needed to buy our own bottled water; include cost of cleaning the house in the property listing and/or just incorporate it into the total price, instead of adding on post-booking.
We rented this villa for a girl's weekend in, & the place was immaculately clean 7 just as described. The photos do not include all the bedrooms, but there was definitely attention to detail in the design of everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, & would consider staying again with a large group. However, we did have some issues that are worth noting.Firstly, the listing clearly advertises the possibility of early check-in for an extra fee. I contacted the host several times regarding setting this up, & was given the run around, even after reaching out within the 24 hour window they requested, I would have liked a straight answer.Secondly, the property needed to be better maintained. The first night we had to go out & buy batteries because the cinema remote batteries were dead, and wouldn't operate the screen. The spa also would not heat, but luckily it was already a warm day so it wasn't too much of an issue. The second day, the bathroom on the main floor began to leak from the toilet seating area. We just turned off the water in that bathroom. The third day, I woke up the bathroom on the lower floor completely flooded (presumably from the bathroom above). Overall, the hosts responded within 1-4 hours of these issues being brought to their attention, but nothing was done to remedy this and it just seemed like an extra burden on us during the stay. This place was expensive & we shouldn't have run into all these issues. But like I said, we still enjoyed our stay!
First the good. The property is gorgeous! Large, open floor plan with high end appliances, fixtures, and furniture. Nice sized poor with hot tub. The beds were very comfortable. Large TVs in each room. Ample parking. Plenty of dishes, utensils, small appliances. The communication with the staff was excellent, especially considering the problems we encountered. Now the bad. This listing is somewhat inaccurate and looks like it was sent through an AI tool (see individual picture descriptions). No exercise bikes were found. While there is an elevator, if you are in a wheelchair, you still have to navigate down 6-8 steps to just get in the house. The house is NOT ADA compliant. While it does not say that it is on the listing, the conversation I had with one of the hosts prior to renting it made me believe that it would be fine for my daughter who gets around in a wheelchair. Having to carry her in/out of the house (and then her chair) was difficult. Also, the basement level, with the movie theater, exercise area, and pool table, is not served by the elevator. Only the top two levels are wheelchair accessible. If the movie theater is not working, try the breaker box on the outside of the house. It was tripped. I had to locate this on my own while also trying to figure out the pool remote/settings, as the responsive host was not of any help.Despite the multiple issues we had, we did enjoy the house, and the hosts did refund us a very small amount.
Overall, the house was fantastic! Host was also generally responsive and helpful. If I have any constructive criticism, i would ask for better linens in the bedrooms. The linens they have were low quality. Also, we couldn't figure out how to get music to the outdoor patio which was a bit frustrating and I messaged the host about that and didn't get a fix. Music did work inside. Overall, terrific house and we would stay again!
