The Mayo Cottage - Ocean-view Newfoundland

Discover peace and privacy at the Mayo Cottage, a newly built open-concept retreat with stunning ocean views and no neighbours in sight. Perfectly located near the historic, and must see towns of Trinity and Bonavista. For all amenities the town of Clarenville is just 35 mins away. If you enjoy breath-taking nature be sure to visit Terra Nova National Park. Amazing hiking, paddling, whale and iceberg watching all just some of the exciting activities in the area.

CHECKING IN: Welcome! key is in the lock box to the right of the door at the driveway entrance. Open the shutter, there is a simple combination lock, dial in the CODE: 2285. Depress the small black lever and the compartment will open. Remove the key. The brass coloured key opens the main door and the nickel coloured key opens the door off the top deck. Please return the keys to the compartment when you check out.

CHECKING OUT: Turn off everything, round up all dirty towels and start a load of them in the washing machine. This really helps our cleaner that travels a distance to change over the cottage and has very limited window of time. We greatly appreciate it. Bag up all garbage in a big black bag and put it in the garbage pick-up box at the top of the second driveway. Lock up and return the keys to the lock box. Message me once you have left the cottage.

Gather used towels
Remove personal items and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
-Please start a load of towels :) -All garbage in a black garbage bag and put it in the garbage bin at the top of the northern driveway. -no recycling in our area, put it in with garbage. :( Thanks

For last-minute reservations, agrmnt must be signed before check-in info will be sent.

A beautiful place just to be

A well appointed home, very comfortable with killer views. Kitchen was a nice place to work. The loons made the stay very special. Such an easy drive to Bonavista and Elliston. I would highly recommend staying here.

Mey, originally from Cuba, and I, born and raised in Muskoka Ontario. met on an adventure trip and instantly clicked. After getting married, Mey moved to Canada where we continued to explore this great country together. In 2025, during a road trip in our converted Van, we stopped at the Mayo Cottage - and instantly fell in love. Owning it felt like the perfect chapter, and we hope our guests fall in love with it just as we did.
