About this property

Paniolo Hale Oasis: Private Beach, Pool & Trails

Welcome to your magical oasis at Paniolo Hale, located on the serene and untouched west end of Molokai. If you are looking for the "Old Hawaii"—the one with no stoplights, no high-rise resorts, and no crowded beaches—you have found your home.

Come home to your complimentary starter grocery pack (water, coffee, milk, eggs, bread, and fresh fruit) so you can relax the moment you arrive.

This two-level townhome offers a rare blend of plantation-style charm and modern comfort. Designed to capture the essence of island living, our condo is more than just a place to sleep; it is a gateway to a slower pace of life. Whether you are sipping Kona coffee on our screened-in lanai or watching the sunset over the Pacific, you will feel the "Mana" (spirit) of this incredible island.

The Space: Two Levels of Island Luxury
Our townhome is unique in its layout, offering privacy, space, and a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. As the new owners of a property that was lovingly maintained by its original owner for decades, we take immense pride in providing a clean, comfortable, and soul-rejuvenating environment.

The Main Level: Open-Concept Living
Step inside to an airy, light-filled open-concept living area. The first floor is designed for relaxation and social connection.

The Kitchen: We know that Molokai living often involves cooking at home. Our kitchen is fully equipped with high-quality appliances, including a rice cooker for your local-style meals and a slow cooker so you can head to the beach and return to a hot dinner.

Living & Dining: Relax on comfortable seating while enjoying the cross-breeze of the famous Molokai Tradewinds. The dining area is perfect for a romantic dinner or a family game night.

The Lanai: Perhaps the highlight of the home, our large, screened-in lanai acts as an outdoor living room. It allows you to enjoy the tropical air and the sounds of the birds without the worry of insects.

Full Bathroom 1: For added convenience, a full bathroom with a walk-in shower is located on the ground floor.

The Upper Level: Your Private Sanctuary
Follow the stairs up to a massive master suite that occupies the entire second floor.

Sleeping Arrangements: The bedroom features two comfortable Queen-sized beds making this unit perfect for couples, a small family, or a getaway with friends. High-quality, new linens and towels ensure a restful night's sleep after a day of hiking.

Master Bath: A large, full bathroom serves the upstairs, providing plenty of room for morning routines.

Laundry: No need to overpack! A stackable washer and dryer are located inside the unit for your exclusive use.

Location & Climate: Naturally Air Conditioned
Many condos in Hawaii can feel stuffy, but not this one. Our unit is strategically positioned to catch the steady Tradewinds. These cooling breezes flow through the screened walls and louvers, creating a natural climate control that keeps the unit refreshing and cool all day long.

Paniolo Hale is famous for its lush, beautifully landscaped grounds. Walking through the property feels like walking through a botanical garden, with plumeria, hibiscus, and towering palms at every turn.

Amenities: Everything You Need for Adventure
We want your stay to be stress-free. To help you enjoy Molokai’s world-class coastline, we provide:

Beach Gear: High-quality beach chairs, plush beach towels, and a small cooler for your drinks and snacks.

The Pool: A sparkling, well-maintained community pool is just steps away, perfect for a mid-day dip.

BBQ Areas: Take advantage of the two dedicated barbecue areas on-site to grill up some fresh-caught local fish.

Wi-Fi: We provide reliable internet for when you need to check in with the outside world. Tropical rain or storms can occasionally cause the signal to lag. If this happens-simply switch your device to your mobile hotspot, or give the router a quick 30-second unplug/replug to restore.

Beaches Within Walking Distance
From our front door, you are just a short, scenic stroll away from some of the most beautiful beaches in the world:

Kepuhi Beach: Perfect for watching professional-level surfing in the winter or enjoying a sunset stroll.

Papohaku Beach: One of the longest white-sand beaches in all of Hawaii. Often, you will be the only person on its three-mile stretch of sand.

Make Horse Beach: A secluded gem ideal for sunbathing and exploring tide pools.

Outdoor Adventure
Hiking: Trails start right outside the door. Explore the rugged West End coastline or hike into the nearby hills for panoramic ocean views.

Golf: The nearby (though rustic) Ironwood Hills offer a unique golfing experience.

Cultural Sites: Molokai is rich in Hawaiian history. Visit ancient fishponds or take a hike through the Halawa Valley on the far east side of the island. The 3 churches of St. Damien outside of the Kalaupapa Peninsula are open to visitors and have a weekly Sunday Mass.

Why Choose Paniolo Hale?
Paniolo Hale (which means "Cowboy House") pays homage to the island's ranching history. The architecture is iconic—cedar wood, vaulted ceilings, and large screened openings. It represents a time when buildings were designed to breathe with the land.

As your hosts, we are committed to the spirit of Aloha. We have stocked this home with the items we use ourselves, ensuring that you have every comfort while you immerse yourself in the rural beauty of Molokai.

Upcoming Events:

Important Things to Note
Transportation: We highly recommend renting a car well in advance, as options on the island are limited.

Groceries: We recommend stopping in Kaunakakai (the main town) on your way from the airport to stock up on supplies. Kumu Farms is a must-stop for local produce, meat and other local products.

Environment: Molokai is a rural island. Expect to hear roosters, see deer and wild turkeys, and experience nature in its purest form.

Respect: We ask all our guests to practice "Malama" (to care for) the land and the local culture.

Detailed Neighborhood Guide: Exploring the West End
The West End of Molokai is a place of rugged beauty and total tranquility. Unlike the busier hubs of Maui or Oahu, the West End is a place where nature dictates the schedule.

1. The Beaches (Our "Front Yard")

Papohaku Beach Park: Just a 5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk. This is one of the largest white sand beaches in Hawaii. It’s so big that even with 50 people on it, it feels empty. Great for beachcombing and sunset photography.

Kepuhi Beach: Located right in front of the resort area. In the winter months, the swells are massive and majestic. In the summer, the waters can be calm enough for a refreshing dip.

Pohakumauliuli Beach (Make Horse): Follow the trail north from Kepuhi. It’s a hidden cove that feels like a private movie set.

2. Dining & Essentials

Maunaloa Town: A quiet, charming village a few miles up the hill. You’ll find a small general store for basic necessities and local crafts.

Kaunakakai: About 25 minutes away. This is the island's "hub." Visit Kanemitsu Bakery for their world-famous hot bread (a nighttime tradition) or grab fresh poke at the local grocery stores.

3. Activity Recommendations

Stargazing: With almost zero light pollution, the night sky at Paniolo Hale is breathtaking. Look up at the Milky Way from the lanai.

Whale Watching: If you visit between December and April, you can often see Humpback whales breaching from the shore.

Fishing: Molokai is world-renowned for its fishing. Local charters are available for those looking to catch Ahi, Mahi-Mahi, or Ono.

Full-sized refrigerator and stove.

Microwave and toaster oven.

Slow Cooker (Crock-Pot): Perfect for those who want to "set it and forget it" before a day of exploring.

Rice Cooker: An essential for any Hawaii stay.

Coffee Maker: Because coffee on the lanai is a mandatory morning ritual.

Complete set of pots, pans, silver, and glassware.

Basic spices and starter supplies.
