About this property

Adorable 1-bedroom detached Guest house, w/loft, AC, and beautiful deck,

This beautiful guest house was built by my husband (a 7th generation Carpenter), although his lifetime career and expertise was 30+ story buildings. This guest house has very special qualities of building techniques, when a carpenter built the complete home/building, down to the last nail. it truly is a work of art. originally the loft was built at a 12/2 pitch, because our son could stand up (and you can still stand up (centered). my request was for a garden house (LOL). My husband always mentioned to others builders after my garden house was build to have prints of what your wife wanted and what was expected. This peaceful retreat features one cozy bedroom with a full bed, perfect for a restful night. Guests enjoy a comfortable atmosphere with heating and air conditioning to suit any season, we keep upgrading as time allows. it now has a an apartment size refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and hot plate, with all cooking amenities. We hope to have the new small kitchen installation completed by October. A welcome deck with a bistro table and 2 chairs for morning coffee or that evening drink enjoying the evening stars, with accompanying 2 Adirondack chairs listening to the rushing stream or just enjoying our beautiful area. Whether you’re unwinding after a day of exploring or simply soaking in the tranquil surroundings, this tremendous rural spot offers a relaxing escape. You’re sure to make fantastic memories with a stay at our place. We're located in a country setting just 10/15 minutes from shopping areas. We have a Tap Room featuring local Ciders, churches, a school, and a mechanic's shop in our small Village of Hockinson. In Brush Prairie the tavern is known for its food and local brews. You can often enjoy the soft laden fog through the trees in the morning from the Pacific ocean. We're an hour and half from the ocean or the mountains. Surfing, kite-flying, numerous hiking and walking trails, fishing, hunting, snow Skiing, kayaking, wind surfing In the gorge on the Columbia, golfing in Skamania, Snoqualmie Falls, biking trails (on-road and off-road), and site-seeing in any direction is just a drive away. Come enjoy your adventures with us, you won't be disappointed. we have a gated home with 24/7 Security , parking , and a lovely peaceful area.

About the host

Hosted by Peggy D Millea

Host profile image
I was born in Oklahoma, and still have that old-fashioned mid-western mentality, "there's always room for another plate at the table, and your welcome at my campfire anytime." I was raised on a ranch/farm, or as my grandmother said we were "yanked-up!" She was from back east and as soon as we were of appointed age(s), we were shipped back east to a Traditional finishing School, expected to learn elite social graces, etiquette, languages, and household management. Gloriously, over time all of those historic preparatory rigorous women's foolish ideology closed. And I still process food, making jams and jellies. I quilt when I have the time and opportunity. I love to fly-fish, read, and travel when having the opportunity.

Why they chose this property

It's Renaissance! You can know your neighbors, plant a garden, your in a beautiful country setting, weekend markets, just a drive away from the city, shows, theatre, ocean or mountains, and come home to the country.

What makes this property unique

We're on an acre with a fully fenced yard, gated driveway, secure and safe surroundings, with a stream and habitat areas in front and back, in a lovely scenic area. It truly is "coming home."
