Not far away is the Hanseatic city of Rostock with its commercial and fishing port and bustling maritime traffic. The Old Town, with its medieval churches, invites you to take extended journeys into the past and entices visitors with numerous tasteful and cosy restaurants and cafes. The Maritime Museum and the theatre are also popular destinations. In the old fishing village of Warnemünde, with its “Alter Strom” promenade in northern Rostock, you can take boat trips out onto the Baltic Sea. In the summer, Kühlungsborn offers not only golf but, above all, beach life or even a boat trip out onto the Baltic Sea. The Hanseatic city of Wismar is also worth a visit. Wismar’s Old Town has now been lovingly restored!
Wismar (as has Stralsund, for that matter) has been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List!
