The “Pfarrwitwenhaus Landow” is located in the western part of the island of Rügen. The Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park, which borders the house directly, invites you to enjoy relaxing walks and bike rides through beautiful natural surroundings. This detached holiday home is situated in the small, idyllic village of Landow (about 10 houses) with a view of the Landower Wedde, which is part of the Kubitzer Bodden (a bay of the Baltic Sea). It was built about 230 years ago as a parson’s widow’s house. During the renovation, we made every effort to preserve the old charm of the half-timbered house while still furnishing it to modern standards. The house comes with a 1,500-square-meter lot featuring mature trees, shrubs, and lawns. The property is completely fenced in, so children and dogs can play safely here. A large wooden deck with wooden patio furniture invites you to relax. A grill for lovely summer evenings is also available.
On the ground floor, you’ll find a living room with two cosy sofas and a wood-burning stove, a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, and a cosy kitchen-diner. Upstairs, you’ll find two additional bedrooms—one with a double bed and the other with two single beds—and plenty of space to play. There’s also another bathroom upstairs.
The village is home to a medieval church, which today serves as a cultural and pilgrimage church. Wonderful concerts are held here on some weekends.
Right next to the holiday home is a small farm stand offering fresh local produce (vegetables, fruit, eggs, meat, honey, sausage).
In the spring (March/April) and fall (October/November), you can watch the cranes and wild geese from the holiday home. In the morning, they fly out to the fields with loud cries to search for food. In the evening, they fly back to the Bodden just as loudly. A truly impressive spectacle!
With a little luck, you might also spot the local “Pommernadler” (Eurasian hobby)
For more information, see “Pfarrwitwenhaus Landow.”
The house has Wi-Fi; there is no TV.
