Approached by a track which would ruin many cars, this property should overlook the town spectacularly; unfortunately, the garden is so overgrown and abandoned the view is barely possible - and only the distant peaks if you're short. The outside sitting area is in shadow from late morning.Inside the house is overall well laid out but very under-maintained, with neither shower working well (actually, pretty terrible), much clutter, randomly equipped (we found four coffee makers yet only three wine glasses). Also cold and a bit damp - this is pretty high up. Cracked and patched plastic covering on the kitchen worktop added to the sense of dilapidation.Sitting/dining room is large and useful, one bedroom large, the other small with very limited storage.Seventies styling perhaps would be kindest? Everything seems to have been done on the cheap, equipment needed coaxing to make work and we were happy to leave early and find a hotel.It may have worked better if our host had been more present, but we never saw her after initial meeting.As the trip organiser I was under some pressure here - we'd had an amazing week in the south of the island so this was a real let-down. Showers, heating and garden improvements would have made a massive difference, simply making the place seem maintained and guests as valued. Mosquitos also posed an issue.The town of Tempio Pausanio is lovely. Many wonderful places close by; more still up to about 90 minutes drive away.
