Our beautiful holiday rental is located in the lovely Vogelsberg district, between Hoherodskopf and the Nidda Reservoir, on a sunny eastern slope in Schotten. It’s just a few steps away from the trailhead leading to Michelbach. From our holiday rental—which was partially renovated and almost completely refurnished in 2023—you can set out on motorcycle, e-bike, and hiking tours. The stunning natural surroundings, with their winding country roads, hiking trails, and bike paths, offer every guest the opportunity to plan their holiday as they please. We also recommend a visit to the nearby golf course (2.6 km), the outdoor pool (600 m), the bird park (1.5 km), the summer toboggan run (8 km), the climbing forest (8 km), or the Vulkaneum (700 m). In winter, you can enjoy both cross-country and downhill skiing (9 min. to the ski lift / depending on snow conditions). In summer, Schotten offers a variety of dining options, including Italian restaurants, a vegan restaurant, a wine bar with a select wine list, two cafés, an ice cream parlour, a traditional tavern, and a restaurant serving fine dining. We recommend booking early; we’re happy to assist. Thanks to Rewe, Lidl, Aldi, Edeka, and Rossmann, you’ll have everything you need to prepare your own meals.<br><br>Access to the holiday rental is via five long steps leading to a separate entrance. On the property, there is a terrace with a koi pond and chairs for your exclusive use. A koi pond and a lawn with a large cherry tree invite you to linger. In the summer, the apartment stays cool thanks to its basement level, and in the winter, it remains pleasantly warm thanks to underfloor heating. Through a spacious hallway with a stylish coat closet, you’ll find the lovingly furnished kitchen-living room on your right, featuring a kitchenette, dining area, sleeper sofa, and TV. Turning left from the hallway, you’ll find the interior bathroom straight ahead, equipped with a shower, sink, and toilet. The bedroom features a comfortable 1.80 x 2.00 m box-spring bed, a stylish closet, and a TV. This apartment invites you to take a few days off from everyday life, relax, and unwind. Of course, the apartment offers free Wi-Fi. You can park your car on the street in front of the property. For an additional fee and upon request, there is a charging station for electric cars in the courtyard. Amenities include, among other things: a Bose soundbar, a filter coffee maker, a Nespresso capsule machine (capsules are available for purchase), an oven, a kettle, a toaster, a 4-burner hob, a refrigerator with freezer, and 2 TVs. Pets and smoking are prohibited. The apartment is designed for 2 adults, but thanks to the sofa bed in the living room, one child or an additional adult (upon request) can also stay overnight. The apartment is generally rented for a minimum stay of 3 nights. For longer stays, a washing machine (optional, for an additional fee) can be provided. As of 01.01.2019, the city of Schotten charges a tourism tax of 1€ per day per person. Exceptions are guests staying for work purposes and children up to age 6. This fee is charged upon arrival in addition to the booking.
