This south facing holiday home has great views up the Lauterbrunnen valley towards the Breithorn peak, one of the mountains in the Jungfrau-Aletsch range which forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage site. The spectacular Staubbach Fall, the second highest waterfall in Switzerland with a height of 297 m, can be seen from the balcony.

The living/dining kitchen has an open plan layout. The well-equipped kitchen has granite work surfaces, on which you can prepare delicious meals. There is comfortable seating in the living room on the sofas or around the dining table. The master bedroom has a double bed and the other two bedrooms have twin beds. One bathroom has a shower, the other has a bathtub and a washing machine/ tumble dryer is provided. Underfloor heating throughout the apartment makes for a lovely atmosphere. If you need some additional storage, there is also a private garage along with bike and ski storage areas.

There is a range of lovely walks from the apartment. The village of Lauterbrunnen can be reached within 10 minutes. There is easy access to the Trummelbach Falls. The Schilthorn cable car is also close, which enables you access to the car-free village of Mürren. There is a bus stop close by which takes you to Lauterbrunnen train station and connects you up to Wengen and Mürren. From here you can also make your way down the valley to Interlaken.

Clean, Functional and very well located

We were a party of 2 couples staying for a 2 week holiday in Lauterbrunnen a place we had visited a few times before so we knew the area and the location of the apartment having stayed on the same complex twice before. The arrival information and access was easy and straightforward. On entry we found the apartment clean, comfortable and well presented although we did discover a small issue which was very quickly resolved by the owner. The location of the apartment is ideal with easy access to busses, trains and Lauterbrunnen centre. It is also ideal for activities straight out of the door. We also found that the Shop and Restaurant at the Jungfrau campsite to be very good, with the shop being well stocked for most things. Be advised the restaurant is well priced and very good but gets very busy and it's not always possible to book. Our 2 weeks passed far too quickly and we made very good use of the apartment, returning most days to sit on the balcony admiring the view of the mountains whilst partaking of some beverages. We had no problems with the apartment and half way through our stay we got a change of towels and bedding, but unlike our stays in other apartments at Hafod a Hendre the beds were made up, bins emptied and things like dishwasher tablets were all replenished. All in all a great 2 weeks and the apartment was a great base offering all we needed for our stay. Not cheap, but we'd happily return.

Just Amazing

This property is just perfect, I would say even better than advertised pictures. We were 2 families with total of 3 kids and we had plenty of space. Location couldn't be better, literally just in from of the waterfall. We spent 5 days and it was a great base to visit all the beautiful attractions from this amazing valley. Everything was perfect, from the initial information, booking process, payment, arrival and our stay. A big thanks to Diarmuid for all attention! I definitely recommend this place and also look forward to return in the near future!

This is a great apartment for a family or a couple

This is a very clean modern apartment we have returned to a number of times since it was built 10 or so years ago It's not luxury nor is it as convenient for the ski areas but if you are on a budget you will save 1000gbp compared to a similar apartment up in wengen The regular and ski bus give great access but actually if you aren't carrying skis then the walk into lauterbrunnen isn't too long Plenty of space to store car ,skis and bikes (if you come in the summmer ) I'd recommend it as a spacious apartment in the most beautiful of settings. I cannot give it five stars as it's not luxury. If you want to be skiing from 9 then you will struggle as door to The base of the Eiger is just over an hour so you'd have to get up early but if you are happy to ski from 1030 to the end of the last lift at 430 it's fine It's great in the summer

Large, modern, well equipped apt close to bus stop

We stayed as a group of 3 couples for two weeks. The apartment is a really good size, with a great open plan kitchen-dining-living area with a large table and comfy sofas. This meant we all had plenty of space to chill out in the same area. The kitchen is really well equipped for a holiday apartment, we cooked most evenings and had everything we needed. The listing is accurate, actually it seems bigger than it looked in the photos. Everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The apartment manager Diarmuid was very friendly and helpful, and knows the area very well. There is a bus stop to take you to Lauterbrunnen station or the Stechelberg cable car at the end of the road (1 minute walk) in the morning, it's free with your ski pass. Otherwise, it's only 10 minutes to walk into town in the evening, or there is a good (and good value) restaurant at the campsite only 5 minutes walk away. There is also a small bar and shop at the campsite, and the restaurant also does takeaway. We would recommend the property and would stay again.

Well equipped apartment in a beautiful location

This first floor apartment is spacious and modern with plenty of comfortable seating and a fantastic view from the balcony. The kitchen has all the up to date appliances that you could wish for, and the 2 bathrooms are well lit and appointed. On our first evening the property manager, Diarmaid, visited and was most welcoming, giving us some ideas about activities we might like to try. Lauterbrunnen and the surrounding area is a fantastic place to holiday, with bars and restaurants in the town itself and a bit further afield. The adjacent campsite, Camping Jungfrau, also has good facilities open to non residents and regular social and music evenings, only a couple of minutes walk away. All in all a great base for a summer holiday spent walking and sightseeing, and would be equally good in the winter as a base for a skiing holiday. Highly recommended in all respects.

A lovely spacious apartment for a skiing getaway

We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights as a group of friends and partners for a relaxing skiing holiday. There is an easy bus connection to Lauterbrunnen train station where after a very picturesque ride you arrive in Kleine Scheidegg where many pistes span out from. We enjoyed the apartment very much as its homely atmosphere made it easy to enjoy nights in cooking and chatting. Also a very relaxing place for those who do not choose to ski. The manager was very helpful in giving tips about the area and making sure we were well-settled & the arrival instructions provided were very easy to follow. All in all a lovely skiing weekend, we can very much recommend this property - there is already talk of coming back next year!

Nice place, great location

We spent four days here over easter. The weather was miserable for two of them, but as the apartment was very comfortable we were ok spending time indoors. The place was clean and well looked after, Diarmuid & Cascia were available for any assistance we needed. Very well situated for exploring the valley.

Super property, excellent location

The apartment is just as described - beautiful, modern, very well equipped and comfortable. It was also very practical for our party of four adults and three young children. We found the accommodation excellent in every way and would highly recommend it to others. The information provided by the owner was very helpful and the local agent was terrific, the best we have encountered. We certainly intend to return as and when we can. The location is simply stunning. Beautiful views from the balcony. We spent the week winter walking (with two prams) mixed in with some skiing. The area is ideal for these activities, with the ski bus stopping a few metres from the flat. Lauterbrunnen is a super little town with all the basic facilities including cafes (one particularly good), good transport, a supermarket and several restaurants. We love the valley and this must have been our 15th trip to it over many years. The apartment is the best we have used.

Great holiday!

We have just returned from a fantastic stay in this lovely apartment. The apartment is well equipped, clean and extremely comfortable. We spent the week skiing in Wengen - a wonderful ski resort. The transport links from the apartment to Wengen worked extremely well (bus and train) and if we got home too late for a bus it was only a 10 minute walk. We would not hesitate to recommend either Lauterbrunnen as a destination or this apartment to stay in.

Beautiful Apartment Luterbach

We thoroughly enjoyed our summer stay in this very clean, comfortable, well equipped and spacious apartment in the beautiful Lauterbrunnen Valley. Within easy walking distance of Lauterbrunnen and it's station, together with a bus stop just at the end of the chalet access road, the apartment is ideally situated to take full advantage of the wonderful transport network throughout the region. Would highly recommend purchasing a travel pass - the Bernese Oberland pass suited our needs exactly and enabled us explore a wide area using all forms of transport - funiculars, cable cars, gondolas, trains, buses, boats.

Ski Holiday Rental

The apartment was perfect for a winter holiday. It exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous and the apartment with its many windows and nice deck allows for a great view. As for the apartment itself, everything was clean and neat. The appliances were modern and the location was very convenient to town. As for space, we had 5 adults and an infant and it was perfect size. For those wanting to ski, the bus stop is literally right out the front door. I would say it took an average of an hour to get to the top of the mountain but with the views along the way it did not seem that long. Everything you would need to ski is easily accessible from the apartment. I would recommend this location to anyone and would stay there again. If I had to point to a negative it would be that the apartment was a little low on cleaning supplies (detergent, etc.) but in the big scheme of things that was extremely minor. Again great apartment in a picturesque setting.

A beautiful apartment, clean, well equiped with an ambience of comfortable luxury. All equipment had suitable instructions and were easy and familiar to use. An abundance of hot water and tremendous shower, just what the Doctor ordered after a day in the mountains! The location was quiet but within easy reach,10 minute walk or 2 minute Bus ride to the village centre with its connections to the rest of the attractions of the Jungfrau region ('Bus Stop' within 100m of front door, ask the driver for 'Shutzenbach'). There is no need to hire a car as the efficient integrated transport system takes all the stress out of getting about. A reasonable day out is Murren with easy to difficult hiking with the best value food at the Sports Centre, not as luxuriant but the food and service are excellent and very reasonable, circa 15% cheaper than anywhere else. Lots to do rafting, paragliding, cycling and (definitely!) watching the 'Base Jumpers'. For convenience the store in the campsite over the river provided adequate provisions at a reasonable price. To conclude I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to family and friends or indeed revisiting ourselves.

Superb property

We had a wonderful experience in this property. It was clean, comfortable, and came exactly as advertised. We had more than enough room for 6 of us (4 children) and the W/D made life much easier. The parking space is very small - it will take a standard sized car but nothing larger like the vehicle we had. However, the onsite contact was very helpful and found us a suitable alternative in the unit next door. It was necessary to shop for some basics (bath and laundry soap, paper towels, etc.). We would return in a heartbeat.

Amazing everything!!!

This place was fantastic, location, views, beds, bathrooms, nice thick towels, very clean, full kitchen, it made our stay that much more enjoyable!!! You can walk everywhere in a few minutes. The Swiss people are patient and kind !! Our first impression of Oberland area..no words can describe the beauty!!

Nice apartment in a perfect location

The apartment has a spacious living room and open kitchen, which was very good for our group. Also, the closeness to the bus stop was perfect for us. The host, Diarmuid, was responsive and very supportive with all questions we had. All in all we were happy there.

Alles perfekt

Die Wohnung ist grosszügig und bestens ausgestattet! Es war sehr sauber. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war unkompliziert und schnell. Die Lage ist perfekt zwischen zwei Skigebieten (Mürren - Schilthorn und Grindelwald - Wengen), der Skibus ist direkt vor der Haustüre. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen, besten Dank!

Sehr schöne Wohnung in Top-Lage

Die Wohnung ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet, was man braucht. Ihre Lage ist hervorragend, die Bushaltestelle liegt vor der Tür und die Fahrt zum Bahnhof Lauterbrunnen beträgt 3 Minuten. Einziger Nachteil war, dass die angegebene Anschrift falsch war. So musste zunächst Kontakt mit der Agentur und anschließend mit dem Vermieter aufgenommen werden. Auch der angegebene Name des Vermieters an der Hauseingangstür war nicht korrekt. Man musste erst in den Mietvertrag schauen, um den richtigen Namen zu finden. So hat es eine Stunde gedauert, bis wir nach Ankunft endlich in Wohnung konnten. Der Aufenthalt war dann perfekt, Diamuid sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend; eie klare Empfehlung.

Familienfreundlich

Wir hatten hier eine tolle Woche. Die Wohnung ist groß genug für 6 Personen, gut ausgestattet, mit schönem Ausblick und direkt an der Bushaltestelle. Wir sind Ski gefahren, gewandert und gerodet. Das Wetter war traumhaft und das Panorama ist einmalig schön. Vor allem die Orte Gimmelwald und Mürren sind einen Besuch wert. Das öffentliche Verkehrssystem inklusive Gondeln und Lifte funktioniert gut. Alle Schweizer sind sehr freundlich. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit!

We enjoyed the place

Clean and spacious apartment. Have everything we need (6 of us) for the whole week. Diarmuid is great to work with. The only thing guest should know is that the beds are kind of short. If you are over 6 ft tall, you might find it a bit tight.
