A little paradise in the heart of the Pisan town of Casciana Terme. Casa Pietraia, a small country house on the edge of Casciana Terme’s historic centre. Nestled in the Pisan hills, this little cottage features a fireplace, a terrace, and a secluded garden. This beautiful retreat is a hidden gem, ideal for those seeking peace and quiet in a private setting with charming Tuscan style.

The town is also known as “Città del Benessere,” which means “City of Well-Being.” And that’s exactly what this place is. The local thermal spa, often called the “pearl among Italy’s thermal spas,” is idyllically nestled in the Pisan hills and is famous for its healing springs, whose therapeutic effects have been known since 1100.

The town square, surrounded by charming bars and restaurants, also invites you to linger. Small shops offering homemade specialities add to the town’s charm. These are just a 10-minute walk away. You’ll find fresh fruit and vegetables every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the weekly market in the piazza of Casciana Terme. A weekly mobile fruit and vegetable vendor also offers fresh produce in the narrow streets.

The hilly countryside is perfect for hiking and exploring the vineyards or visiting the beautiful neighbouring village of Lari. The nearby cities of Grosseto, Pisa, Siena, Lucca, and Florence are all within a 50-minute drive. Nearby towns like Pontedera and Ponsacco are perfect for a leisurely stroll. The historic town of Volterra is very close to Lajatico, the birthplace of the famous opera singer Bocelli.

The beaches of Cecina Mare, Vada, and the white sand beach of Rosignano are just 30 km away and easily accessible in a half-hour drive. Other beaches, such as those at Marina di Bibbona, San Vincenzo, and Follonica, are also in the immediate vicinity.
