Bullerbü near the Baltic Sea - wooden house in the village
Modern Scandinavian-style furniture sets the tone for this spacious ground-floor holiday rental. To keep the interior from feeling too “woodsy,” white, silver, and grey provide a cool contrast to the warm wood. The look fits the house perfectly: Finnish designer wallpaper featuring birch and pine trees brings the forest indoors. Yet wood remains the dominant theme, and that’s a good thing: it radiates warmth, is cosy and comfortable, and smells wonderful. Unlike many other materials, wood is a renewable resource that rightfully bears the “sustainable” label. It naturally creates a pleasant, healthy indoor climate with just the right amount of humidity. And you can really feel it.
The “Ostsee Holthuus” comfortably accommodates up to four people in its 110 square metres of space. The kitchen, dining area, and living room flow seamlessly into one another and are visually separated by exposed beams. Light-colored furniture and beautiful accessories create a friendly atmosphere where you’ll feel right at home. The bookshelf offers a variety of reading material—from crime novels and fiction to magazines such as *brand eins*, *Schöner Wohnen*, and *Landlust*. Travel guides and regional maps are also available. In addition, there are CDs, a small DVD collection, and various games. When the weather is nice, the large terrace and garden invite you to enjoy the outdoors.
The Ostsee-Holthuus is a smoke-free home. Out of consideration for guests with allergies, pets are unfortunately not allowed.
The area around Hohwacht Bay is a top pick for independent travellers. Those who holiday here love nature and prefer to avoid paved beach promenades lined with run-of-the-mill souvenir shops, ice cream parlours, and pizzerias. Yet you won’t have to go without anything: in addition to the fine-sand beaches in Sehlendorf and Weißenhaus, cliffs, and inland lakes, there’s plenty to discover among the rolling hills of East Holstein and in the neighbouring district of Plön—for body and soul, heart and mind. Even during the off-season and shoulder seasons, a trip to the East Holstein coast is well worth it. The beaches are almost deserted, and the North German weather is often better than its reputation!
