About this property

Sasquatch Beech 3BR Beech Mountain Home- Near Skiing- Fire pit- Sleeps 8

THE SETTING

Sasquatch Beech sits high in the trees on Beech Mountain, the highest incorporated town in the eastern United States at roughly 5,500 feet. You are about two miles from Beech Mountain Resort, where the lifts run in winter and the trails and disc golf take over in summer, and just minutes from Fred's General Mercantile, Lake Coffey, and the town's shops and taproom. The air up here stays crisp and cool even in July, and the nights are made for a fire.

THE HOME

This is a comfortable, refreshed three-bedroom, three-bath home that sleeps seven. Inside you'll find a bright, livable layout with a genuinely well-stocked kitchen, a smart TV to unwind in front of, and queen beds in the first two bedrooms plus a twin-over-full bunk in the third — an arrangement that makes it easy on families and small groups. Recent guests have called it clean, comfortable, and better stocked than most, and you can tell the home is lovingly cared for.

THE KITCHEN

Cook the way you would at home. The kitchen comes with a full-size refrigerator, stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, a Keurig coffee maker with coffee, and a full set of dishes, silverware, and cookware, all gathered around a proper dining table for group meals after a day on the mountain.

THE OUTDOORS

Step out to a private, fully fenced backyard with a fire pit, outdoor furniture, and an outdoor dining area. It is the kind of space made for morning coffee in the cool air and s'mores once the sun drops behind the ridgeline.

GETTING HERE

Beech Mountain is real mountain terrain, and the weather can turn quickly. From roughly November through March we strongly recommend a vehicle equipped for winter driving; the roads, driveway, and steps can be icy. Free parking is right on site. Cell service can be spotty on the mountain, so we send door codes and directions ahead of time to screenshot.

GOOD TO KNOW

This home does not have air conditioning; at this elevation the mountain air keeps things cool, and heating and ceiling fans are provided. The garage is not part of the rental, and pets are not permitted. For security there is an exterior camera and floodlight at the front of the property facing the driveway (exterior only) and an on-site noise-level monitor. Please secure all trash in the bear-proof bins and never leave food outside; this is black-bear country.

Host profile image
Hi! I'm Nick, and along with my wife Kathi and our three amazing kids, we split time between sunny gulf-coast Florida and the beautiful North Carolina mountains. We moved south from Massachusetts back in 2017, but the Blue Ridge Mountains quickly captured our hearts! There's nothing better than knowing our guests are making memories in a place that means so much to our family. We're hands-on, responsive, and always just a message away to make sure your stay is perfect!

Why they chose this property

Tucked into a quiet neighborhood on Beech Mountain, this home stood out for its setting as much as its style. Upper Grouse Ridge Road offers some of the most stunning long-range views in the area, making it a favorite stretch for guests who love to step outside and take a scenic stroll before breakfast or after dinner. The neighborhood’s central location within Beech Mountain means guests are never far from the action, while paved roads leading right to the door make arrival smooth and stress-free, no matter the season. It’s the kind of spot that balances peaceful mountain living with easy access to everything Beech Mountain has to offer.

What makes this property unique

This mountain cabin sits in a fantastic neighborhood on Beech Mountain, putting guests less than 10 minutes from the ski slopes and just a short drive from Fred’s and the mountain’s other favorite spots. Winter guests can catch views of the slopes right from the back deck, while the front deck delivers gorgeous long-range views all year long. The backyard fire pit is a true highlight, perfect for gathering under the stars after a day on the mountain. Upstairs, a well-stocked DVD collection waits under the TV for cozy movie nights in — ideal for guests looking to unwind between hikes, ski runs, and everything else Beech Mountain has to offer.
