Haus Rosi:
Haus Rosi is located in one of the smallest hamlets north of the town of Neustadt an der Weinstraße, where the forest meets the vineyards, and is one of the most sought-after residential areas in the Palatinate, not least because of the beautiful view over the vast vineyards. The old village centre, featuring the country estate of the Auxiliary Bishop of Speyer—built in 1759—and the parish church of St. John, charms visitors with its narrow corners and alleys. The church’s Gothic tower stands in stylistic contrast to the Baroque nave. Inside is a winged altarpiece and one of the last three altarpieces in the Palatinate dating from the 15th century: it depicts the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ against a golden background. This is the starting point of a pilgrimage route with twelve stations through the Klausental valley to the “Chapel of the Holy Fourteen Holy Helpers,” which has stood secluded in the wooded valley since the 14th century.
