Just a three-minute walk from the river and Roding’s city centre, a lovingly renovated, cosy ground-floor apartment awaits guests in a quiet side street in a nearly 100-year-old house. The approximately 70-square-meter apartment is ideal for couples or a family with a baby or toddler: There is a 1.80-meter-wide double bed for “the grown-ups” and a travel cot for a child up to 3 years old, which can be placed in the living room or the parlour, as well as a guest bed if the child is a bit older. However, the third sleeping area is not suitable for an adult in terms of comfort.

The entire apartment is tastefully furnished in a country house style. In winter, you can comfortably heat it—in addition to the central heating—with a new wood-burning stove. From spring through fall, the sunny terrace and the approximately 700-square-meter natural garden invite you to relax and barbecue—a barbecue area and grill are available. There is an outbuilding in the garden (a workshop and wood storage area) that is not available for guest use—but there’s still plenty of space to play and run around. And, of course, to relax. There’s also a swing. And if you’re lucky, you might even get—in true rural fashion—an exclusive morning wake-up call from the neighbors’ bantams.

A washing machine is available in the apartment. The garage on the left in front of the house also belongs to the apartment; the entrance to the apartment is separate and accessed via the garden.

Some walking and hiking trails start right at your doorstep, and the Regental Bike Path also runs almost directly past it. If you want to live close to nature yet still enjoy small-town life, this is the place for you: Guests can walk to restaurants and shops for daily necessities. Explore the area around Roding: Nature lovers and hikers will discover little paradises such as the rock park at Falkenstein Castle, the Höllbach Valley, the bird breeding area near Laichstätt—where eagles have even been spotted—and, of course, the Heilbrünnl pilgrimage church with its great beer garden and view over the Regental valley.

If the weather isn’t quite right, it’s worth taking a trip to the medieval city of Regensburg, just a 35-minute drive away—and for those seeking “higher” adventures, the great peaks of the Bavarian Forest, such as the Arber or the Osser, are also just 35–40 minutes away. So taking a day off for skiing or hiking is no problem at all.

Otherwise, there’s plenty to keep you entertained in Roding and the surrounding area: fishing, kayaking, biking, hiking, or joining in the fun at the many local festivals—a blast for guests of all ages. If you’re looking to go swimming, Neubäuer Lake is the perfect spot, and you can experience local tradition at the Roding Fire Department Museum. Not to mention the many mysterious castle ruins, such as Schwärzenburg and Kürnburg...
