The actively operated “Reents” farm is located on the outskirts of our farming village of Dunum, in the immediate vicinity of the North Searesort of Esens-Bensersiel on the East Frisian North Sea, right next to the unique natural wonder “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,” a “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site” since 2009. Here you’ll find wonderful conditions for a lovely East Frisian holiday.

Our farm is home to numerous dairy cows, calves, chickens, and cats. Fresh cow’s milk from our own cows and fresh eggs from our chickens are available to our guests free of charge.

The holiday apartment in the new building at the “Reents” holiday farm offers excellent conditions for a relaxing holiday by the North Sea for two to five people, plus one additional toddler, in approximately 90 square metres of living space. The holiday apartment is comfortably and cosily furnished, warmly decorated, and very well-equipped.

In the large garden, you can relax in the sun or—since this is East Frisia, after all—finally read a good book while enjoying a cup of tea.

Meanwhile, your children can help the farmer milk and feed the animals, sometimes even ride along on the tractor and explore the farm, or simply run around and play in the large yard. And if, for once, the weather isn’t cooperating, there’s a large hall here where the children can play to their hearts’ content.

Dunum is a small farming village located off the main roads. Nevertheless, you can reach the coast and the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel in about ten minutes by car. The hamlets and farms in Dunum are widely scattered. We offer you an unforgettable holiday with games of “Boßel,” barbecue evenings, folk theatre, horse-drawn carriage rides, and group biking and hiking tours.

Dunum also boasts excellent transport connections to the many tourist destinations in East Frisia. It’s not far to the coast and thus to the tourist and spa facilities, such as the North Sea spa towns of Bensersiel and Neuharlingersiel, or to the historic “Knight and Bear Town” of Esens. However, you don’t have to pay a visitor’s tax here. We only offer the “Nordsee-ServiceCard” (visitor’s card) if it’s worth it for you.

All around Dunum, you’ll find the authentic East Frisian hedgerow landscape, extensive wetlands with beautiful and fascinating flora and fauna, and a large forest teeming with wildlife. You’ll be amazed at how often, while cycling along the side roads and bike paths, you’ll be able to spot numerous wild animals in the meadows and fields at dusk.

According to an old legend, the grave of the Frisian king Radbod lies beneath Dunum’s “Radbodsberg.” He was the only chieftain to unite all the Frisian tribes and secure a historic victory against the Norsemen. Our old 13th-century brick church is also a special attraction.

The East Frisia Hiking Trail leads right past our farm through Dunum and, by bike, offers you the healthiest route to the North Sea—to the coastal and North Sea spa towns or to the dike. We’ve also prepared a biking and hiking map for you, the residents of Dunum. Our location is ideal for walks, bike tours, and all kinds of explorations of East Frisia’s unique and diverse natural landscape. Enjoy an active yet relaxing holiday on the North Sea and make the most of the North Sea’s invigorating climate.

On the way to the beach in nearby Bensersiel, you’ll pass through the old knight’s town of Esens north of Dunum. There, children can enjoy the “Klabautermann” indoor play park, while adults have a wide range of dining, shopping, and leisure options to choose from.

The North Sea spa town of Bensersiel has plenty to offer in terms of sports, recreation, and play—for example, the harbour leading to the island of Langeoog, the beach, the beach portal with the covered play area “Bennis Abenteuerland,” swimming pools, tennis courts, surfing spots along the dike, fitness facilities, beach volleyball, fishing opportunities, and much more.
