On the island you can find a large Bogue fishing pier for serious pier fishers, miniature golf courses ice cream shops, biking trails and a small water park for the children.   Spinnakers Reach community also has sound-side access with pier fishing & wildlife viewing.  Just a short drive will lead you towards shopping in local fishing ports and access to a marine aquarium or sea turtle rescue organization.
