Thanks to its central location, many sights are within walking distance, but the 52 richly decorated townhouses from the 13th–15th centuries in the city centre alone are worth a leisurely stroll, which also leads to the impressive Black Gate, through which the long procession of revellers winds its way during “Fasnet.”

The Black Gate also appears as a striking decorative feature in the apartment’s living room; it is one of Rottweil’s landmarks.

The Thyssen Krupp Lift Test Tower provides a contrast to the old Staufer town; which, at 246 metres high and featuring Germany’s highest visitor platform, offers a breathtaking view of the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb.

Various museums and churches are worth a visit, and the site of the 2028 State Garden Show is just a few minutes’ walk away.

Thanks to its proximity to the “Dreiländereck” (three-country corner), a trip to Switzerland or Austria is easily possible; for cyclists, the Neckar Valley Bike Path and many other beautiful routes in the area are ideal.
