About this property
Lakefront home on Bottle Bay with dock - plenty of room to spread out
4-bedroom, 3.5 bath home with decks, docks and great views. Now accepting Summer 2026 reservations.
Families love our large open house right on the water on Lake Pend Oreille. Hang out on the dock, bring your boat or jet skis or rent nearby. Concerts, hiking, huckleberry picking. Our guests often tell us one week isn't long enough to experience all there is to see and do.
Fall and winter are also secret gems in North Idaho -- skiing, snowshoeing, curling up with a puzzle, game or good book is so much more fun with a dusting of snow outside, crisp air, and our mountain views.
Swim, boat, hike, bike - everything is accessible from our Bottle Bay getaway.
Venturing farther afield are day trips to Priest Lake or rafting the Clark Fork or Spokane rivers, hiking in the Cabinet or Selkirk Mountains, antique markets, hot springs, wineries, and a variety of summer specialty fairs. We are about an hour from Coeur d'Alene, 90 minutes from Spokane International Airport.
Nearby hiking and mountain biking trails include Gold Hill, Mineral Ridge, Pine St. Woods, and Schweitzer.
While the town of Sandpoint is relatively small, the variety of restaurants is sure to provide enough choices for discerning palates. Boat to a waterfront restaurant in minutes, jet ski to town to visit the twice-weekly farmer's market or shop. We have a book full of our favorite places to go to and eat at, and when you are here, you'll agree with many of our guests that a week just isn't enough.
Spacious, yet casual. Many custom construction features, built-in seating and storage, everything has been designed for modern comfort and maximum lake views and fun.
With a full dock and two PWC docks the warm waters of Bottle Bay will keep you busy. Guests rave about our fully stocked kitchen with everything needed to make a gourmet meal for your crew.
The open floor plan provides plenty of space for cooking and entertaining on the main floor, either inside or outside. Bathrooms are custom tiled with heated floors, large showers and multi-head shower jets. Bath and beach towels are provided. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, hand soap, laundry soap, paper goods fully stocked.
Kitchen, dining area and living room flow together, with all providing view access to a wall of windows facing the water. Make yourself a latte with the super-automatic espresso maker (locally roasted coffee provided) and enjoy a quiet morning on the deck watching waterfowl. It's just a few steps to the dock and the lake, and the neighborhood provides quiet lanes for strolling.
The side deck is covered, providing shade in the afternoon.

About the host
Hosted by Owner
As longtime Alaska residents, our family of four has been spoiled by the natural beauty of the Last Frontier. Lake Pend Oreille is one of the few places we have found that can rival the natural splendor in our full-time home. The lake's nearby mountain ranges, warm-water recreational activities and cultural events are a wonderful change of pace for us. Sandpoint and the surrounding area have a friendly small-town vibe that made us feel comfortable the first time we visited.
Why they chose this property
We have considered building or buying a vacation home in ski towns and beach towns, and we feel the lake offers the best of both! Sandpoint and the Pend Oreille area have been recognized as summer and winter recreation meccas by Men's Health, Travel and Leisure, Rand McNally and more - this secret vacation paradise is gaining greater attention, and when you are at Bottle Bay, you'll see why.
Schweitzer Ski Resort isn't too far away, there are numerous cross-country trails in the region.
During the summer months, Bottle Bay is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy early morning wildlife or beautiful sunset barbecues.
