Chesapeake Bay Cottage, Private Pool, Pier and Kayaks

Relax in this fabulous waterfront cottage, Puerto Del Sol, with panoramic views of the North River and the Mobjack Bay.

In the morning with a cup of coffee you can enjoy watching the activities of the local watermen pulling their crab pots from the comfort of your screen porch.

With your private pier daily activities can include swimming, crabbing and fishing. It also provides a place for you to tie up your jet ski or small boat. If swimming in the bay isn't your cup of tea there is always your private pool to enjoy.

In the early evening the spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed from the sunroom, screen porch or pier. While the views at Puerto Del Sol are breathtaking the interior is warm and comfortable. The living room is large with ample seating space, a fireplace, TV and VCR/DVD combination player. There is also a sun room across the back of the home for additional living space with another TV . There is a first floor master bedroom suite with private bath which is furnished with a queen-size bed, also has a TV. The additional two bedrooms are upstairs, one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds. These rooms share a full bath. Bring your own linens.

There are three areas for you to enjoy your meals. The dining area inside which is furnished with an antique pine table, the screen porch has a glass top wrought iron table and the pool area has an additional table with umbrella.

We provide everything that you need for a relaxing vacation including a fully equipped kitchen, games, puzzles and books.

Mathews County is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy being in a peaceful environment. It also provides recreational, cultural and sightseeing opportunities. Whether you want to play golf, visit Williamsburg and Busch Gardens, charter a fishing boat or play tennis, all are just a short ride away.

From June through August we only accept 7 night rentals Saturday to Saturday.

Perfect Peaceful Getaway on the North River

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-week stay at this beautiful North River cottage. The setting is peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet still conveniently located. The home is well appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We spent our days catching crabs, swimming in the pool, and our nights under a stunning star-filled sky. Truly a relaxing and memorable escape!

Perfect for a family vacation!

This house was a very nice house to rent for a family vacation. The house was very clean and pretty. The pool is very big, and clean also. And we loved fishing on our personal fishing pier every day! We also found good restaurants to go to in town every night.

We had a wonderful vacation with our 3 young kids. Crabbing, fishing, kayaking, pool, plus tons of games and puzzles inside. The days weren't long enough! The home is well kept and the views are beautiful. We saw sting rays, turtles, and lots of crabs! Would love to come back.

This house was a perfect get away for our family! Sunsets were beautiful. The location was a little out of town which allowed us to relax but was only an hour away from Williamsburg and Bush Gardens. The near by towns had lots of really good restaurants. We also enjoyed trying our had catching and cooking the blue crabs. We would recommend this house!

Check-in was easy and the house beautiful! The men and my 16 year old granddaughter loved the fishing and crabbing from the pier. We had fresh crabs daily.We were disappointed that our weather was chilly and wet the majority of the week so, we only used the pool once.Patti was excellent, she was very responsive and always helpful.

This home was lovely! It was exactly as described. We had a beautiful view of the North River. Sunsets were amazing!There was ample room in this house to be apart or together…sometimes it’s good to have a good place to read! We brought our boat and were most pleased to see a TidesClock. It was very helpful! The pool is small but fine for us. Very nice addition!The kitchen has more “kitchen needs” than many VRBO rentals. However, wish there was a cabinet or a couple of shelfs that renters could use for their own food items. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We had a fantastic time! The house was charming, well-maintained and more spacious than I thought it would be. We split our time between the pool, the dock and the screened-in back porch. The setting was lovely and quiet and exactly what we were looking for. The kitchen had everything we needed - we appreciated the spices and the Brita pitcher! They even had a crockpot, a blender, a juicer and a food processor - great things if you're going to cook at the house. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Lovely stay!

Our family of 4 and our 2 friends absolutely loved the house! We spent each day in the pool, fishing, kayaking, hanging out in the screened in porch, and relaxing in the room overlooking the water. I the location was great, easy drive to Mathew’s for groceries, ice cream, and dinner. Great communication with the host, easy check-in and home was just as the pictures show. We can’t wait to return!
