“Mawe Huus” was rebuilt in 1998 on the foundation of an old barn. The thatched-roof house was constructed using traditional building methods and in keeping with old architectural styles, and offers a magnificent, sweeping view of the Oldsumer Marsch in the northwest of the island.
The heart of the house is the light-filled living-dining area on the ground floor, which includes an open kitchen and covers approximately 50 m². Partially furnished with antique furniture and featuring an Old Frisian pyramid stove, it provides the perfect setting for cosy and relaxing moments.
A guest bathroom with a bidet and an additional room accessible from the outside, equipped with a washing machine and dryer, are also located on the ground floor.
An open wooden staircase leads to the loft area, which features 3 bedrooms, a total of 6 sleeping spots, and 2 additional bathrooms.
The garden is surrounded by a Frisian wall covered in wild roses and offers an unobstructed view of the marshlands. You can relax in the sun on the comfortable, cushioned patio furniture
