Loved the ease of checking in with the keypad entry. Allows you to check in anytime of day without having to find a front desk attendant. The unit itself was a little dated but had everything we needed. Good location and decent amenities.

Great location, big space

Overall, the start was great except that the air conditioner could not keep up with the humidity level making it very humid and hot in the room. The place was well equipped and nice.

Not the greatest place for the price. All appliances were very dated and old. Even the coffee maker was put together wrong. Refrigerator door did not close itself, the toaster had to be 20 years old and burned the toast. Stove had the old spiral burners and were uneven. Not the best place I've stayed for that price. And the VRBO charge was a surprise.

Location, Comfort and BEACH!

The condo was perfect for my husband and I during our stay in Maui. Loved having a full kitchen to be able to prepare breakfast each day as well as snacks for the BBQ's we attended for our friend's wedding. Walking distance to a nice beach where we snorkeled and saw a turtle! Condo was comfortable with A/C in the living room and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Bed was quite comfortable and I loved that there was a TV in the bedroom, too. Very quiet surroundings and the pool was refreshing. Loved being able to walk to Maui Brewing around the corner to enjoy lovely beer and food. Pictures posted in the HomeAway ad were accurate. LOVED the fact that the condo had a keypad for entry so I did not have to schedule a time to pick up a key from the landlord, and my husband and I did not have to maneuver sharing a key when we were out doing separate activities. Was so grateful that parking was easy and I never struggled to find a place to park, even late at night. This is a true gem in Maui - affordable, convenient and clean.

The room was in absolutely terrible condition The A/C was not working properly and it was a big leak and mess The door code we got didn’t work and we had to stay 2 hours outside the door till the owner got us a new code . No hot water in the shower and leaking water from the faucet in the sink and under the sink. It was really bad experience and the most bad service ever

Maintenance Issues

When we first arrived there were mouse/critter droppings all over the pull out couch and all over the pull out bed itself when it was unfolded. Additionally, the ceiling has a leak area right above it where it’s not actively leaking but had left ceiling pieces on the pull out bed as well. We vacuumed them and removed the bedding liner, but we are pretty disappointed about this, especially given how much we are spending for the week to stay there. During our stay maintenance had to come to take care of a leak that was going into another unit.

Pretty good value for a spacious, basic but functional condo

It's roomy and has all the basics. The photos are likely a bit of an oversell. We travel a lot, and have no qualms of staying in everything from a one star (if it's clean) and anything above that. This would classify as about the equivalent of a dated 2 star (clean). Pluses: Walkable to the ocean and some great places to go out for a social beverage, book activities or watch the sunset on the beach. Third floor location is quite accessible. Being around the corner meant that the road noise was somewhat mitigated. Great common area hot tub as well! Couch was comfy, TV for if you wish to catch a movie or news etc. The bed was comfy, though we prefer a firmer mattress. Great layout overall. Cons: Quite dated, to the point of really needing a refresh, with a number of things needing some love. The basics are all there, dishes and cookware-wise, but don't expect a single condiment or anything extra. The laundry equipment is relatively uncooperative - as in getting the washer to run a full cycle was impossible. Despite the smell of incecticide, there were still a constant attendance of tiny ants in the kitchen (we know to keep all food in the fridge and rinse out every single item including bottles and cans but that was no help) The bed was a bit soft and the lanai faces a fence/tree-line with the road noise of the highway.

Had a great time!

Let me me start by saying that the space was comfortable and clean - it had a Hawaiian vibe which I like - felt homey. I had a strange start to my visit - I was greeted by the last renter inside the unit, she was on the phone complaining about something that she felt hadn't been cleaned properly in the unit... it was quite awkward... luckily she left after I brought in my suitcase, very odd. But I put that aside and checked out the place. It was nice but the layout was a bit different than I expected - it was like everything branched off a hallway - kind of stacked front to back... no biggie though. One bummer for me was the lanai... the lanai itself was fine, but the view was not awesome. I don't mind landscaping views, but the trees by my unit were kind of opened in one spot and you could see into a neighbor's yard - it was super messy and not conducive to relaxing. It made me feel like since I could see into their yard, they could see me on the lanai. I wish the condo complex would fix that... And when the air conditioner was running, it was loud and hot air blowing on the lanai sitting area. I know it's Hawaii, and many rentals have ants, I was used to this from previous rentals over the years. But in this case, I wasn't able to find a place to store my food so that they ants didn't get into it. Usually you just put it up high or in a clean spot, and they don't bother... I'm very careful! but I had ants in my cereal and snacks and had to throw them away. I was disappointed to find the there was only 1 beach chair and it was not a very nice one... luckily It was only me. I ended up renting one that was more comfortable. I also had to spend about 30 minutes on the phone with Spectrum cable/internet because when I went to use the TV, something wasn't right so Spectrum had to reprogram the remote... a bit frustrating because I wasn't the one who caused the problem. One last item - the fan in the bathroom was quite loud - I wish that there was an option to use it or not, but it came on with the light. Other than that, the washer/dryer and fridge were great! I didn't use the stove, but it was clean and in good shape. The bed was pretty comfy and I liked that there was windows in the bedroom that let in fresh air. All in all - I had a great time, I would stay there again! Thank you

Although the lanai/patio is not private, it felt private. Other than a stain on the carpet the property was beautiful. We were very happy with our stay even with covid just starting to ramp up.

Don’t let the pictures fool you, this property is run down and dirty!

Although I rented this property due to its close beach location for six days I was only able to stomach staying for two. It is one thing to just have older apartment furnishings that are in good condition and for the condo to be clean as presented in the listing that could not have been farther from the truth. Instead the carpet had large and suspicious looking stains all over, dirt/ dust/ dead bugs were throughout the condo, an odd urine like scent came from the shower, the hide away bed was extremely hard to get out, the sheets were stained/ had holes in them, and were beyond scratchy and those are just the highlights. My guest and I ended up sleeping on the beach towels we had brought and used the blankets we had brought for use on the flight because they were so bad... To put our experience kindly save your money and stay in a motel 6, trust me it will be a whole lot nicer.

It was a good experience, convenient location and nice complex. The road noise is loud at night, and it’s hard to cool off the bedroom as the AC is only in the living room. Overall good living space though, with comfortable beds, including the pullout couch.

Kahana Villas

The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub are very nice, and there are two grills for lunch or dinner at the pool. Family came several times to enjoy the amenities. It was very convenient to have a code entry on the door, so you didn’t have to worry about a key all the time. Very smart idea.

My partner and I stayed in this property for a week. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and literally across the street from a beautiful beach. A party of four could easily stay here, although there were only 2 of us. Check in and out were hassle free. It is well within walking distance to several beaches, the Maui Brewery, and many cafes. Not a good view! The mattress should be replaced, way to soft! Walls need painting and the carpet was filthy!! We actually own a two bedroom time share at Kahana Villa and that was the original carpet. The unit really needs to be updated. Tell your cleaning crew to scrub the tub with cleanser, it wasn’t very clean when we arrived. Does your company ever check to see what their rentals look like? When is the last time the owners used it?
