Jim was an incredible host. He was responsive and proactively reached out to ensure that all was well when we received some snow during our stay. The house is warm and welcoming with plenty of space for our larger party of 4 adults and 4 children. The clean and well equipped kitchen allowed us to cook and enjoy family meals, and we also walked down to The Roadside Cafe, which was excellent! We loved the peaceful beauty of the location but it’s also very accessible to Butternut and downtown Great Barrington. This is a great find in the Berkshires!

Family winter weekend

House was spectacular! Owners were extremely helpful and checked in on our stay. The most relaxing weekend for my family. Perfect place for adults and young children. Can’t wait to book again for next winter!

Great Ski House for Families!

We loved our stay! We have two children, seven years old and five years old, and the house was a perfect fit. House was very close to Butternut, an easy drive in the morning to the slopes, and also close to restaurants and shops for post-skiing activity. I would highly recommend the house and will likely stay again!

Even better than the listing

It is much more than a cabin! It is that Berkshires cabin feel you want, but not rustic or creaky. Beautiful back yard, all the amenities you could want, spacious bedrooms. The basement was an unexpected bonus. A great place and great location!

Wonderful getaway

This was our second time staying at this property for a short ski weekend and it did not disappoint. Everything was cozy and warm, the kitchen had everything we need, and the beds super Comfortable. My family especially loved the billiards table and the hot tub. Jim was incredibly responsive and checked in (by text) to make sure we didn’t have any issues. Wonderful house!

Fantastic rental in the Berkshires!

Our group of five old friends had a wonderful time at "the Cabin" which is really an amazing log house. It had so many great features-- hot tub, pool table, lovely outdoor shower and sitting area -- but the screened porch was our favorite! Cozy and airy, even during downpours. We hope to return in the future. Thank you Jim and Lisa.

Excellent Getaway

We had such a fabulous time at your home. My family stayed with us and we cooked up a TON of food. Great space to relax, eat, spend time together. It was a beautiful fall week and near several art museums that we visited daily. Tons of things to do, tons of ways to relax and the whole house was beautiful and comfortable. We are likely to stay here again. This is the best place to stay in Western Massachusetts. THANK YOU!

Wonderful weekend in the Berkshires

My family and I loved this house. Even though unexpected rain put a damper on most of our weekend plans, the house more than made up for it with plenty of indoor amenities to keep us entertained. Especially the pool table! The host was very communicative before and during our stay, and the house is a short drive from great restaurants and other fun attractions. Would definitely rent it again!

The perfect home in the Berkshires!

My friends and I rented this BEAUTIFUL log cabin in Monterey. The minute we walked through that door, we loved everything about it! It's extremely clean and organized and tastefully decorated. The home owners were wonderful and kind as well as reachable at all times. The kind of people you want to rent a home from. My friends and I look forward to returning to this perfect home next year!

A comfy abode for a perfect weekend

This house was exactly as described - clean, comfortable, and entertaining. My crew especially loved the basement with dart board and billiards table, the amazing hot tub, and serene location. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well appointed, and location perfect. I enjoyed sitting in the small woods behind the house listening to the birds. Jim checked in throughout our visit to answer questions. Zero complaints about the place. We definitely want to return.

It’s a beautiful cabin, attentive host, nice hot tub and fireplace, and basement tv room. I would easily give five stars except that there were a lot of dead bugs in the cabin (though it’s in the woods it’s more than I would expect of a place just cleaned), and there are a LOT of personal/family photos all over the house. Not a few - dozens, on pretty much every wall, table, surface. And the master bedroom had all of the owners things and clothes in the dressers, nightstands, closet, even some dirty clothes in the hamper. While none of this ruined our trip (we still had a very nice time and it is a beautiful place), all the photos and personal stuff made it feel a bit awkward at times.

Amazing cabin in the Berkshires

We had such a great stay! The house is absolutely gorgeous and has amazing outdoor spaces. Everything is super well maintained and felt very comfortable and homey. The location is great, with a beautiful pond 5 minutes away and 10 minutes from a lake. We were able to do both grocery and alcohol delivery which I super convenient during COVID. It was close enough to town that we had everything we needed but still felt isolated and you could see so many stars! We loved grilling out and using the hot tubs. Jim had super clear directions and was very communicative to make sure we had a great stay. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful cozy home

This is an amazing, modern, cozy home in the Berkshires. There is a spacious gourmet kitchen with everything you need. The hosts are very communicative and have made navigating the home easy. A great bonus is that there is a bedroom with a king size bed and en suite bathroom on the first floor. We loved lighting a fire every night. If you have a large group, you will have so many things to do in this house - there are darts, a pool table and many games in the house. I can't say enough good things about this house!

The perfect home for a visit to The Berkshires

Our family rented this home 5 years ago and we came back last month to enjoy a relaxing weekend in the Berkshires. We love the country feel of this beautiful, spacious and modern cabin, including the numerous social spaces on the main floor and lower level entertainment area. The bedrooms are very comfortable and well-appointed. The backyard, with its picnic table, lounge seats, hot tub and firepit, is absolutely perfect for relaxing evenings. There is a state park with good hiking trails 5 minutes away, and Great Barrington is less than 15 minutes away, which is the quintessential Berkshires community - wonderful for shopping, dining or just an afternoon stroll. My familiy and I all hope to return again to this special place (and much sooner than the 5 years it took for us to make our second trip).

Comfortable and private Berkshire getaway

We had a great stay at this cabin sand would gladly come back. The property is large and private but the town is just a short drive away so you have the best of both worlds. Our group consisted of two families with a total of 7 people. We all enjoyed great meals that we prepared in the fully stocked kitchen and we spent lots of time enjoying the recreational amenities. The outdoor hot tub was clean and we used this on two occasions. The basement has a full game room and we spent several hours hanging out here during a rainy day. The 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms were all spacious and there was plenty of space for our group of 7 to spread out and not be on top of each other. Jim was also in touch prior to our stay and he was very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for something in the Berkshires.

Perfect Winter Getaway

We spent 3 nights at the cabin and it was the perfect hideout in the woods for 6 adults and 2 grand kids. We spent most of our time on the main level between the open kitchen and the living room with a roaring fire. The downstairs with the TV and pool table worked out great for the world cup game. The owners were very accommodating and communication was great. It snowed the entire weekend but that just made it more cozy. We VRBO every December for 8 years and the family said this was their favorite place.

Family weekend in Monterey Mass Cabin

We were a family of 5 adults and one infant looking for a secluded property August 2022 and this cabin did not disappoint. We spent alot of time on The spacious screened deck during the warm daytime hours to cool off, and we enjoyed the outdoor area and hot tub too. Everyone was able to find a comfortable space to work or play. Great set up in the basement for family movie nights. Would definitely consider it for a winter visit as well.
