Quiet location with superb view over the islands

Used this apartment as a 10-day holiday base for visiting, primarily Dubrovnik but Split, Kotor, Montenegro and Mostar, Bosnia with self drive car hire as well. Local supermarket and bakery provided for breakfast on the balcony, lunch out and mostly restaurant dining in the evenings. Restaurant prices are not much different to UK-anything between £50 and £120 for 2-3 courses with a good (Croatian) bottle of wine, of which there is a fantastic choice. Using the 7-day Dubrovnik Card paid for itself in museum entries, city wall tour, bus rides and discounted island (Lokrum) visit. On first thought, we liked the idea of an apartment in the Old City but when the nightly noise from crowds and cleaning services are considered, staying outside was better. Two Top Tips: 1. Use the Port of Dubrovnik website to determine when the cruise liners are in and avoid the worst days as there can be an influx of up to 10,000 extra people all trying to visit the same places as you! 2. Decide your itinerary and do your sums to see if a Dubrovnik Card could save you money.

I dont want to leave a review as word may get out!

I had a meeting at the Sheraton and needed to stay close as the hotel was full. These villas are directly connected, and so perfectly located. The cove is really lovely, and quiet, but within easy reach of Dubrovnik. There is a great supermarket very close by too. The villa was way too big for just me, but I enjoyed the facilities none the less. The small kitchenette is perfect for light meals, and the beds are large and comfortable. Everything is basically brand new, so just a pleasure to stay there. I will be back with the family for sure!

GoT to stay

First things: this isn't a 5 star hotel, it's a guesthouse, so set your expectations accordingly.... Laundry service every 2nd day, no elevator and no breakfast room. But WHAT an exceptional guesthouse... the room I had was clean, with adequate space and a renovated bathroom. The owner lives in on the 3rd floor with about 9 rooms across 2 floors rented of which some have jaw dropping cinematic views of the west harbour and Fort Lawrence (or Kings Landing jetty/red dungeon for Game of Thrones fans). Eddie himself is a friendly larger than life character with unbelievable enthusiasm for his guests to get the best out of Dubrovnik. And on that you should know that besides the bay being 90 seconds walk away you are at the bus terminus for Pile Gate so bars and restaurants are on the doorstep and the Old Town in 3 minutes walk, as are buses North to Gruz or the Lapad peninsula. Basically the same as the Hilton but a fraction of the price. There are some really petulant comments on GMaps so I offer an opinion: the house has a courtyard entry and a metal locked door leading to an alley for the harbour....loiterers, drunks, aggressives and jerks get short treatment from Eddie, everyone else is welcome. Do try this place, it's super.

Nice apartment, poor communication

The apartment was great with lovely views. We arrived on time but there was nobody to let us in or even explain which apartment it was as there were lots of other apartments with the same name. We finally found a young man who was working on a boat and fortunately had the hosts phone number so was able to let us in. Another couple who arrived later had the same problem. The number we were given by Hotels.com was for Hotels.com, who said they didn't have a number for the hosts. As I said, the apartment was really nice with comfy bed, lovely and quiet with great private parking. To eat or shop you need to go into Dubrovnik which shouldn't be a problem as you must have transport to stay there.
