This cute room was perfect for a nights stay in Buxton. Lisa was friendly and accomodating, and provided just about everything you need to enjoy not only the night there but the morning after as well. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are a single person or a couple looking for a place to stay for the weekend.

Tucked away in the trees near a small harbor. Clean and comfortable accommodation and kind and helpful host.
This room was perfect for me and my sis. Nice and clean and a pretty view from the porch.

Unique apartment that was warm, cozy and fun. We drank coffee on the deck in the tree tops. This place had everything any one could want. I highly recommend.
Trees and water who could ask for anything else and really enjoyed Diamond Shoals restaurant. I could lay on the bed with screen door open and enjoy nature sounds.

Everything about this place is absolutely perfect! Will be staying here again! So cute and comfy!!
My husband and I came for just one night to explore the Cape. I enjoyed breeze coming in from the ocean and waking up to the sounds of birds. Lisa's place is clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed; also very close to Pop's, which had delicious and inexpensive seafood.
Such a quaint beautiful small space which was created with such grace and love. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting a nice quiet getaway
They were okay, we were able to check in early, which was really nice. A kitchen sink would have been nice so that we didn’t need to use the restroom sink. A counter top oven would be great. The curtains need to be updated. The nightstands are worn and should be covered. The main reason for the low rating is because the owner smoked marijuana more than once when we were there. That is one of the main reasons we look for a property away from others. The smell made us feel nauseous, and was very rude.
Lisa was great, I needed a place to crash a couple nights for an OBX wedding. Perfect 10 min drive south of Avon. Access to the lighthouse in a short drive or nice long walk around to the point of the cape. She suggested the Palmico Inn for breakfast, which was perfect during the mid week mornings.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place for our getaway weekend at the beach. It was a quaint little treehouse that was very welcoming and made our short stay absolutely wonderful. We will definitely be returning with the anticipation of hopefully listening to the host perform.
This property was a great stay for the Outer Banks. There were plenty of places to access the beach, the room was very clean and well thought-out for guests, and the host was friendly and helpful. We even got to see her perform with her band at Breakwater restaurant in town! The Vrbo exceeded our expectations.
Property was clean and very functional. Host was also responsive and communicated well. We really enjoyed the stay.

Nice quiet retreat! Owner is very helpful and nice! The only thing missing was a TV, otherwise everything else was excellent. I would stay there again!
We only stayed overnight but we will be back! Lisa was an great host and I would recommend tree house to anyone. Unit was clean and she even supplied coffee for the maker inside the room.

Cozy room in the tree tops was just what we needed for this trip. Lisa, the host, was friendly and helpful. It was wonderful!
Cozy, comfortable and quiet cabin in the middle of beautiful live oak trees. Perfect for the 2 of us. Wish we could have stayed longer.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Cooper
I am an artist who has lived on Hatteras with my husband, also an artist, for 39 years. I now continue to live and work on Hatteras by myself. I play guitar and other instruments, sometimes in local venues. My work is part time at a beautiful gallery in Avon called Kinnakeet Clay, where I create various items from slabs of clay that we sell in the gallery.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property after living here for many years. My husband was an avid fisherman, gardener and painter, and living on Hatteras Island gave him opportunity to do all of these things. We enjoyed the small island community and I am glad to still be living here.
