I was able to get what I needed from Jekyll Realty With a simple phone call. The blankets on site were dirty so I washed and used them AND washed them before checking out.

September 2025 Stay

We were very pleased to find all the essential we needed were there. We received a phone call before we arrived, and were told where to find the keys. The lights were on, so we didn’t have to walk into a dark room. It was very cool inside, which was super nice since it was hot outside. The little goody bag on the counter was a nice surprise. It contained all the necessary essentials in a nice tote bag. Everything was clean. Unfortunately the air stopped working on the second day and we experienced a hot night. I called the following morning and they had someone come out and fix it that day. The bed was king size ( which was great) but the mattress was extra firm ( bordering hard as a brick). I highly recommend a new mattress, possibly a pillow top, or at least a soft mattress. We did like having a water hose next to the front door. The Xfinity remote in the living room didn’t work on the tv in the living room. The plugs were older and rather worn out. When we plugged anything in they would almost fall.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The apartment is in a great location- a short walk to a great area of the beach. The best thing about the apartment was the (shared) rooftop deck. We spent a lot of our time there and it was amazing.The house itself was described as basic but it's beyond that. The floors are tile with what seems like years of grime on them. There was one floor mat at the entrance and one in the bedroom. We had to request bathmats and use one in the kitchen. The lampshades have holes, some kitchen cabinet pulls are broken or just missing, there's a crack in the island top, there's not even any pot holders. The window shades have broken slats. The bathroom is in rough shape, especially the tub.It needs a very deep clean.This apartment could be comfortable with some effort (it wouldn't take a full-on remodel). A little TLC and I would have had a different experience.

Great location to the beach. House was comfortable enough. Mostly clean but were some pet hairs on furniture and floors. But was to be expected as pets are allowed. There was a circee bag that included paper towels/TP/dish soap etc. so that was nice.

Reviewer Comments: Jekyll realty really needs to rethink their policy on how much they do not spend on paying to have their units cleaned.We found the place quite gross. They stress that they expect the client to do the cleaning for them. In the future we would not rent through them without first seeing the property. I have to wonder if the property owners realise that the realty co. is just pocketing this very important part of their contract. They also do not provide adequate outdoor furniture for guests.

Though the house had been "cleaned" our feet got black from the floor, the bathroom was full of hairs, mystery blue stuff on tile in shower, stove was FILTHY and smells like burning cat **** when turned on. Wifi was slow and spotty; streaming a movie was horrible. As reported to Jekyll Realty, dishwasher didn't work the first week, and I spent Christmas washing my own dishes by hand. We asked for a credit for that but no one ever replied. We asked for notice before someone entered the property for the safety of our pets, but they ignored that too. Not respectful nor safe toward us at all. There is no peeler in the kitchen, back bedroom needs a nightlight. The only issue we had is the terrible musty odor. The property needs to be opened up and aired out desperately. Our clothing, hair everything smelled musty and stale after sleeping. The odor is in the bedding, mattress, and furniture. We enjoyed our stay, love the area, quiet relaxing getaway.

Good location but poor upkeep

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Quick walk to the beach and easy bike ride to the Villages. One of the decreasing number of pet friendly units. Kitchen faucet was loose, unresponsive for setting temperature, and ultimately completely came off. Luckily I had a small allen wrench and was able to re-secure and tighten it. Wifi speed was between 3 and 4 mbs and kept going out. Unfortunately the router was located in the attached unit so the management company had to contact the tenets there each time to get them to restart it. The kitchen was poorly equipped and some of the pans and glasses were dirty and dusty. The ceiling fan in the bedroom wobbled and rattled so loudly that it was unusable. We were concerned that it would fall. There were electrical outlets that were empty and appeared to be in violation of code. We first stayed in this unit in the 1980's are sure that the kitchen and bathroom have not been updated since then. On the bright side, Jekyll Realty was responsive, courteous, and empathic.
