The unit itself is a great space. Needs some cosmetic attention and very dated .We thought we would be able to cook lots of odds and ends 1 small skillet and some pots.1 beach towel, bath towels are old and fraying 1 face cloth 2 hand towels. Beautiful views from the deck . Lounge chair there are 4 2 cushions 1 was tornAdvertised as a Luxury 2 bed 2 bath 1 bath was unusable was not advised of this until after we booked . There was some work done but not completed smelled chemicals the whole stay . Issue with air conditioning loud screeching noise at times throughout day and night Was given the wrong property information, no information on how to access the unit We made it work but felt a bit cheated for the price we paid. Would not stay again

Great condo for couples that vacation together!

We reserved this condo for three nights in June for myself and husband and my sister and brother in law! We LOVE the swim up bar, the pool was beautiful and a nice temp! The onsite restaurant is great and there’s a little store on the property in case you need beverages, ice or anything really! The rooms were awesome and we loved the common area to play games and just hang out and talked when we weren’t in the pool! Definitely planning on staying again!! Also had a beautiful view of the ocean!

Spectacular Views

Great place! Nice furnishings and incomparable views! Only one minor suggestion, there was no corkscrew so I had to go down to restaurant to open wine bottle!

Great location

The location was great for us. The condo is a little dated and some repairs need to be made but overall it's a nice place. We unfortunately had some heavy winds this trip and the sliding glass doors kept us up most of the night vibrating off each other. Just need to upgrade the sliders and it would surely make a difference for noise

No Baby Crib,which is essential for kids under 1 hear old.

The place was good and the view is amazing, we enjoyed our time there the only down thing is there was no baby crib, booked this place because it was specified that they had a traveler baby crib. I have a 9 month old baby that i had to keep in beed with me (co Speel, never done it before due to safety) because i didn't have where to put him to sleep safely. Tried to contact the owner and im not sure how come i never received a reply back.

Mother/Daughters Trip

My sister and I took my mom on a girls trip and stayed at this property. A great view is so important to us and this property did not disappoint! We had a completely unobstructed view of the ocean and beautiful grounds. I am SUPER picky about the views and this was better than the pictures. It was wonderful and we spent hours on the patio looking out into the ocean. The condo was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The staff was very helpful and got us right up to our room, helping us with all our bags. The condo was clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. We spent a lot of time enjoying the views and down at the beach. We were lucky enough to arrive as the hotel is completing quite a few new palapas. We really enjoyed the shade and chairs. We had brought our own set ups, but during the 3 days we were there, we didn't have any trouble getting chairs and a palapa. The hotel also had a small 'spa' that we used for massages and pedicures. The services were heavenly and great prices! I regretted not getting another massage before we left! ha ha! The owner of the condo was responsive and very helpful. We had a couple questions the first night and we appreciated his quick answers. Our expectations of the condo were exceeded and we loved it! We had a very special trip and will return!

The view is everything

This was our first trip to Puerto Penasco and Sonoran Sun, but it won't be our last. We were very impressed by the security available at this resort, which has been one of the reasons we put our visit to Rocky Point off until this trip. This is a 7th floor corner unit and once you walk in the door you get the immediate feeling that you are on vacation! We booked this spot for 2 couples so the two rooms/two separate bathrooms made it a perfect choice for us. The location right on Sandy Beach with a view directly out to the water and expansive balcony is hard to beat. We loved the beach here (lots of shell collecting and sand bars) and having the options of the resort pools and swim up bar was an unexpected plus. On a high note - the drinks at the pool bar were better than some high end all-inclusives we have been to, and reasonably priced. The management makes great effort at upkeep of the grounds - every morning the staff was out cleaning the pools, washing the deck and chairs and replanting flowers and landscaping. Our host made some excellent recommendations on food and for those evenings we decided to stay in we picked up shrimp/fresh fish at the pier and had all the necessary tools to prep at home . There is Netflix and wifi available for chilling out in the room and great outdoor options when we wanted to see the sites. The condo itself is starting to show its wear and tear which we, unfortunately, contributed to when we accidently broke the glass dining top table.. Our host was very gracious and a replacement was arranged. FYI - the second bedroom bed is hard as boards - so be aware. If you have difficulty with this, bring your own mattress topper and pillows. I elected to sleep on the sofa.. One of our party also forgot his wallet in a drawer and our host arranged to have this couriered to us. Great customer service and the owners were really involved, which we appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

NOT a "luxurious penthouse", not even close

Of course when you see a listing "Luxurious Penthouse" you rightfully have high expectations of something very nice and extravagant. Though the condo is decent, it's nothing fancy and it's certainly not luxurious. I think they should remove that from the title. The furniture is dated, there are no special amenities (not even shampoo/conditioner) and there is not a single luxurious thing about it. You can have the same experience renting a less expensive unit in this same resort, I know because I have in the past. I wasn't going to put this in the review, but I feel that with the response I got from the owner was irresponsible and I think it's important that he knows that he needs to take care of people, especially when they are on vacation looking to have an amazing time away and especially when your condo has an issue with SEWAGE!!! Yes, sewage! So....the entire condo except the master bedroom was consumed with a urine/dirty toilet water smell. I'm not talking a little bit, it was overpowering and disgusting. I thought there had been toilet that overflowed and dirty water was left out to dry on the walls and floor. It was gross and nasty. I was able to keep the smell out of the master bedroom and since we were only staying 1 night and we were at the beach all day I just dealt with it. Then next day I messaged the owner who admitted there was a wax seal on the toilet that was broken. Instead of doing the right thing and taking care of us he left it at that. I was disappointed that he didn't offer even a tiny discount, he said something about next time..uhh unlikely a next time is going to happen. Boan, if you know there was an issue with the SEWER just take care of us. Especially when we didn't make a big deal about it or insisted to be moved in the middle of the night making your life hell. IDK I just think people should be better than that. Regarding the resort itself, it too is very dated. The pool bar was super dirty. I watched the bartender "washing" his hands by dipping them in a sink full of water (no soap), which makes me think they didn't have running water which makes sense why I never saw him wipe down the bar nor the utensils he was using. He was very nice though :) So overall the Sonoran Sun is not that great. I'd suggest the Sonoran Sky or Sonoran Spa or waiting for the new Sonoran Star to open. I do give 5-Stars to the Sandy Beach, which is always beautiful and fabulous!

This condo was amazing! The view was spectacular - beautiful ocean view! The patio was so big with many lounge chairs. The hotel grounds were great as well. The pool was never too busy, the swim up bar has great drinks and the beach is right there! We will definitely be back!!

We loved this condo!!! The view from the balcony is amazing. The condo is spacious, clean, and well appointed. In the morning we walked barefoot on the beach for miles and then had breakfast in the little cafe downstairs - really, can't ask for more. Would love to return at some point.
