About this property

Thank you for your interest in our cabin at Lake Wallenpaupack!
This home was built by Marion and Albert Eckardt, the original managers of the Indian Rocks Community, originally purchased by my parents in 1965. Mark has made lasting memories at the Lake over the years. The original house was a ranch style home. In 1992, a tasteful addition was built by a craftsman from Chester County, and it blends well with the original
construction. The cabin is located on a slope under a canopy of mature beech, maple and oak hardwood trees, affording shade and wonderful views of Lake Wallenpaupack, located only 200’ from the front door.
Enjoy the fieldstone patio with your group, where you’ll grill on the Weber stainless propane grill, enjoy your meals and the lake views from the 8’ picnic table, and cap off the day by enjoying a campfire and roasting marshmallows and making S'mores! Enjoy the views, your favorite beverage, and conversation on the covered front porch, furnished with comfortable outdoor furniture. Bring your own boat, up to 24’L, and moor it in your own slip located directly across the road, in protected, no wake water, for only $35 per night additional (proof of boat registration and insurance required). Usage of the convenient boat launch, is included at no added cost. Enjoy the convenience of the no wake zone opposite the cabin, about 1.5 miles in length, great for the kayaking or canoeing enthusiast. Take a short drive to the beach, or to the outdoor recreational area where you’ll enjoy the heated outdoor swimming pool and kiddie pool, or play
tennis, shoot some hoops, or take a break and watch the children as they enjoy the playground. Walk to lake or pond fishing, too!
You will appreciate the rustic charm of our cabin, and also the modern conveniences that you are accustomed to: Air conditioning, WiFi, 46” Sony Bravia UHD HDTVS with expanded HD channels, HD DVR, DVD, well equipped kitchen (no dishwasher), with ample pots and pans for your all your cooking needs.
The cabin also offers a working natural field stone fireplace and electric baseboard heat with registers in each room. Have peace of mind during your stay as the property owner is environmentally-conscious, and
pays a higher rate for electricity by subscribing to 100% renewable wind energy at this property. You can rely on the fact that the owner enjoys and is very connected to the property, which translates to the property being continually cared for and clean! The guest reviews are non-incentivized and support the high level care the property receives and positive experiences our guests have! Mark is involved in nearly every cleaning of the home. Cleaning support is also provided by a dedicated wife-husband team who are paid living wages and care about the quality of work they do!
Come create your own mountain memories at a venue where the owner truly cares about delivering a quality stay and is responsive to you!

Why they chose this property
My parents bought this cabin in the mid 1960's, when I was 5 years old. I have many fond memories of my childhood, our cabin, and the Lake. My parents worked hard to provide our family a vacation home to enjoy and be proud of. I always knew that it was important to keep the Lake in my life as I grew older. I fulfilled my dream of staying firmly connected to the Lake, and bought the cabin from my siblings in 2010. I am grateful for the compromise by my wife and daughter, as owning a second home comes with sacrifices. We have made subtle upgrades to the cabin, and I enjoy providing a great environment for guests to create their own memories!
What makes this property unique
The location of the cabin is great. There is convenience to the lake and the availability to rent a community boat slip for only $35/night, located only 200' from the front door of the cabin! The location of the cabin is also in walking distance of the complimentary use of the community Clubhouse and gym, fishing, lake swimming, and a short drive to the community heated swimming pool, kiddie pool, tennis and pickleball court, and playground. There are also pleasant views of the lake, especially after the leaves fall. Our cabin offers a blend of rustic charm with the modern conveniences of Wifi, HD cable TV, two new Sony 43" 4k UHD TVS, Blu-ray player, AC, and free long distance. The property is enjoyed and maintained by the owner. The property owner is hands-on, and is involved in the majority of house cleanings. The owner is assisted by a cleaning woman and her husband, not a service, who are paid a living wage. The cabin is cleaned to a level you would expect. The owner's reliability and life-long connection to this property translate into a commitment to the property that will assure satisfaction with your rental experience! Owner actually pays a higher electric rate and subscribes to the delivery of 100% renewable electric to this property. Electric supply to this property compliments of 100% wind energy!
