“Lilas” overlooks the historic fishing village of Cassis. The centrally located apartment is on the second floor of a residential building surrounded by shady palm trees and pines. Situated in the town centre, 300m from the nearest beach and port, you will find all amenities within walking distance. Lilas benefits from private, barrier controlled parking, a huge bonus in high season Cassis.

The large, air conditioned double bedroom has sliding doors that lead onto a southern balcony with wonderful views towards the sea, medieval chateau and Cap Canaille. The spacious, air conditioned living room shares the same stunning view; the balcony is a great spot for an alfresco meal or sundowner, watching the changing light at dusk and the illumination of the clock tower at nightfall. A fitted kitchen with household appliances (dishwasher, oven, microwave, 2 ring ceramic hob, fridge, freezer, coffee machine) leads into a loggia where there is a washing machine and additional storage. The shower room and separate wc were recently refurbished..

There is also a hair-dryer, iron, ironing board, satellite TV, CD/DVD player, wireless internet, a cot and a high chair, . We have a small selection of books and DVDs and an aux cable so you can connect your own music devices. All linen (sheets, towels, beach towels, bath mat, tea towels) and household cleaning products are provided.

Inviting restaurants and bars spill out onto the streets surrounding the port and market square, both close to a safe, sandy beach. All this is within five minutes' walking distance from the apartment through narrow cobbled streets.

Spectacular hidden coves (les Calanques) are just a boat-ride away, alternatively walk or canoe to the limestone slabs and enjoy the sun drenched rocks; read, swim, sun bathe, snorkel ........

The colourful market comes to the village square twice a week. The scene is just as you imagine....olives, cheese, honey, fruit and vegetables together with that essential bustle of locals and visitors enjoying samples of the stallholders' fare.

Cassis is one of the truly unspoilt parts of the Cote d’Azur. Thanks to the national park, medieval castle and the famous vineyards, property developers have been kept out and Cassis has retained its 16th and 18th century architecture.

One to remember …

Fantastically well located , within a few minutes’ walk of the cobbled streets, the fabulous artisan shops , the bars and cafes and the magnificent beach. The apartment is beautifully clean’ well equipped and very comfortable. An added bonus is the spacious balcony which provides a place to enjoy a view of the sea.

Dream Holiday

Myself and fiance were on our second holiday to Cassis as we fell in love with the location on our first visit but this time we wanted an apartment with a balcony so we could enjoy relaxing evenings out in private. We weren't disappointed. The apartment was beautiful and the views from the balcony were breathtaking day or night. It is spacious and very comfortable and has everything that you would have if were at home. The beds were super comfortable and of hotel quality. The apartment had a barrier parking area (free) which is a big plus.It was just a short 5 minute walk to the centre/harbour and there is a fab supermarket at the top of the street. Our contact Roger was very helpful and did not hesitate to make sure he was available should we need his help. His knowledge and advise on the best ways to get to Marseille was invaluable as well as the best value restaurants to eat at in the town. My husband, 2 children and I spent 3 wonderful weeks at this place. So much to see, do, eat, drink, swim, snorkel, kayak, sightsee. Marseille is well worth a visit and we also visited La Ciotat, both by train. There is a very inexpensive minibus that runs from town to the station but not the most punctual service. The apartment was a good size for us and is fully equipped with anything you need for cooking and dining in. The balcony all day gets the sun and you can escape the day trippers at the harbour. Dining out in Cassis is pretty expensive but the deli down the road does a fantastic picnic and the supermarket 5 mins away is great. It's a short walk through town to the beach and about 15 mins to the little beach. We are very lucky to have had the property for so long and to have had a great base for our adventures.

Most relaxing holiday ever!

We were fortunate enough to stay at Lilas for approximately two weeks in October. The location was perfect and the apartment had everything that we needed and more. We really enjoyed spending time on the balcony and I will never forget the view. The apartment is within walking distance of the harbour and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the restaurants and shops - as well as the markets - there was even an antique market on Sunday morning where I managed to get an antique corkscrew - one of the highlights of my shopping! We were able to take the bus into Marseille one day and found the bus system very easy to navigate. Although we had some heavy rain during our stay, there was a couple of excellent shops across the street where you could buy delicious takeout food - so we were able to bring dinner back to the apartment if it was too wet to go out. Cassis is a beautiful place to visit and I would highly recommend it to everyone - I know that we would love to visit both Lilas and Cassis in the very near future!

Très décevant !!

Résidence vétuste et mal entretenue, appartement pas très net, vaisselle pas très propre, coussins tachés ou endommagés, lave-vaisselle inutilisable pendant une semaine sur deux, planche du WC cassée durant tout le séjour. Points positifs : la salle de bain, la chambre et surtout la vue sur Cassis. Anne et Jean-Luc (Belgique)

Lilas Apartment, Cassis

Location Quiet location in town, just a few minutes to the harbour and many good restaurants. Trees around apartments enhance the view from the balcony and are a good home for birds. Well stocked supermarket just 2 minutes drive up the road. Excellent access to the superb walking and climbing in the Calanques. Rooms Spacious, well furnished and comfortable with good balcony accessed from lounge or bedroom. Large, comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen with all we could wish for. Parking Private area so no need to fight for a space.

Spotless top floor apartment minutes from the Harbour with great view.

Annika' s apartment has all you need for a comfortable stay in the picturesque seaside town of Cassis. My son and I were very comfortable there for a 4 day break in March and were even able to sit outside on 2 mornings for breakfast such was the weather. You'll need to familiarise yourself with the bus timetable to the station if you don't have a car but if you do there's parking on site and a supermarket 5 minutes away. There's also no lift which wasn't a problem for us but a few flights of stairs may not suit all. Lovely new bathroom and spacious bedroom and lounge with view. Would definitely recommend the apartment.

Schöne Wohnung mit tollem Ausblick

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt in dieser kleinen schönen Wohnung mit Blick auf die Steilküsten, die Kirche und über die Altstadt bis zum Meer. Bis zum Hafen sind es 5 Minuten zu Fuß, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants sind zahlreich vorhanden. Und auch bis in die Calanques sind es nur ca. 20 Minuten jogging.

July 2017

Recently renovated and decorated this is a lovely clean and convenient apartment. Its location is ideal, a short walk into the centre of Cassis and yet situated away from the hustle and bustle. Not too far from a boulangerie to collect your morning baguette or croissants for breakfast on the balcony. The balcony provides a small outside space to watch the changing evening light and enjoy a glass of wine. The new shower room was a pleasure to use and the large bed very comfortable with superior linens provided. The air conditioning worked very well and was much appreciated in the hot weather we experienced. We didn't actually use the small kitchen much as there were so many great restaurants around to choose from, but it appeared to be well stocked with all you would need and there was a good choice of crockery and glasses to use. If there are any suggestions I would make it would be to provide some extra bin bags for use but that's a small detail! Overall we had a great time staying here and wouldn't hesitate to visit again .Thank you.

Fantastic place .and with the new paint job and new bathroom its delux .a true slice of provence

Casis is very cute and a down to earth slice of provence..the property is nice and close to the habour- fishing village. The appartment is a great size for 4 peolpe and whats great is that its located on the top floor so there is no one above you, not to mention the great views .

Perfect apartment in great location

We spent four glorious days in Cassis staying in the wonderful Lilas apartment. The apartment is lovely with good quality bedlinen and furnishings. The kitchen had everything one could possibly need and we cooked delicious meals with fresh produce bought in the local market which we thoroughly enjoyed meandering through followed by a coffee in a cafe with the locals. The view from the balcony is stunning and we enjoyed several glasses of local wine watching the light changing in the early evening! Victor who met us on our arrival is charming and helpful, we will definitely be returning to Lilas.

Wonderful visit to Cassis with very sunny weather and brilliant recent improvements to the apartment

Even in February Cassis was buzzing with activity and spring was in full swing! Watching the evening light playing on the scene down at the port with a glass of wine was magical. And likewise we absolutely loved the fascinating view from the apartment that we were able to enjoy whilst sitting on the balcony or inside. The brand new sliding windows with double glazing together with the air conditioning system gave us entirely peaceful nights. We would recommend ' à table' for lunch or dinner and we heard that 'Le Chaudron' is well worth a visit. We are very keen to return!

So good we'd like to return

We've been renting apartments or gites in France for almost 30 years and Lilas is one of the very few we both agreed we would want to return to. We have stayed in Provence and further along the coast more than half a dozen times so were familiar with this part of France. We stayed for a week after taking a few days driving down to Cassis and spent all of our time in and around the town, in part because it was so hot during our stay - 34C or thereabouts most of the time. The apartment itself is practical (especially the wifi and private parking) and comfortable - possibly the most comfortable bed anywhere we've stayed! - and, as others have said, in a great location just 5 minutes walk from the harbour, bars, restaurants, beach. The beautiful restful views from the veranda can't be over-estimated and really added to the pleasure and relaxation of the holiday. Annika's driving directions to find the apartment and meet up with Victor were essential and worked perfectly. Cassis itself is compact and delightful; interesting little side streets, great reasonably priced restaurants, twice weekly market, events in the harbour. The boat trip to the calanques is a must. We liked both Plage du Bestouan - approx 15 mins walk from Lilas - for the snorkelling (which included following an octopus hunting among the rocks!) and the main beach which is nearer. It was lovely just sitting in the bars lining the harbour and watching the world go by. Equally, if you haven't been to this part of France before Cassis is a good base to visit other places nearby. Annika, the owner, responded promptly and helpfully to all our initial and subsequent enquiries about the apartment and made it clear we could contact her at any time. Victor, 'the man on the spot', was equally helpful and approachable during our stay. Thanks to both of them and we hope to return!

Ideal location to explore Cassis

Nice clean apartment with Wi-Fi and only a 5 min walk from the harbour. Peaceful and the view from balcony is good, ok the tree blocks some of it but the view of the mountain etc kind of makes up for this and its a reasonably private place to relax. The on site parking is also a bonus as you soon appreciate the lack of parking offered by other properties as you wander round Cassis. Cassis offers an excellent selection of bars and restaurants, even the most expensive are reasonably priced, highlight was Fish Bouillabaisse at Bonaparte's The owner (Annika) was extremely helpful and Victor did everything as promised. Got to say would be 5 star if Annika can find a way to trim the tree, but having said that its still a cracking place to stay and we would recommend it.

Wonderful break in fine apartment

Lilas is ideally located in central Cassis close to the harbour. It has great views across to the sea, the church and the 'chateau on the hill' It provides comfortable accommodation with its own parking Cassis is a wonderful, self contained small town with lots of opportunities for days on the beach, walking, climbing, sailing, boat trips along the Callanques, fishing, diving etc etc. It's local rail station - just a short trip on the shuttle bus from near the Casino - has good links to Marseilles, Aix and other local towns along the coast - though there's really no need to leave the town The Wednesday market is a joy and the local supermarkets are more than adequate There are many excellent local restaurants and the local whites and rosés are exceptional - though expensive All in all a lovely break in a lovely place!

An oasis in Cassis

Great Location nice and peaceful

Everything required was available, great little balcony with sun for most of the day. Very close to the harbour where most of the restaurants can be found. Parking in Cassis can be very difficult at times, this apartment has it's own private parking - what a bonus

Enchanting Cassis

This is a great apartment in a wonderful holiday spot, Cassis. It is on the 3rd floor of a block just a few minutes’ walk from the harbour and beaches. It also has parking space, a great bonus. The apartment itself is very comfortable and well-appointed, and you have Victor on hand to call on. It was clean and well-maintained. A very comfortable bed - and a bottle of wine in the fridge. Cassis is a great place for a relaxing holiday. We rented Lilas for two weeks and thought that we would explore the Provence region more than we actually did, but the nice weather and the beaches (we headed for Bestouan – pebbles but great swimming) kept us mostly around the town. Should you require an apero after a hard day on the beach, or walking the Calanques, there are any number of bars and cafes along the harbourside. And for dinner there is a wide choice of restaurants down at the front and in the narrow streets of the town. We did drive up to Aix-en-Provence which is very pretty and a must for Cezanne fans. Another great day out is to take the bus into Marseille – climb up to Notre Dame de la Garde for amazing views and walk out to MuCEM for stunning modern architecture. (Tip: ask the bus driver to upgrade your ticket to include a day’s transport in Marseille. Costs virtually nothing and saves time when you get there; just get on the tram for the Old Port). The only downside to the apartment I can think of is some traffic noise, during the day, with the balcony windows open, from vehicles climbing up out of the town. We had a fantastic two weeks and I’d like to thank Annika and Victor for their assistance. (Annika, if you could get Victor to shin up the big tree and cut off the very top branch, that would improve the view and all would be perfect : ) ).

Relaxing retreat

We spent a few days in Sept. 2014 there and, as was anticipated, had a very relaxing holiday. The apartment is basic but sufficient and we quickly settled into an enjoyable routine. On this occasion we didn't take the car with us and regretted this decision as we found it a bit restricted since we're used to just getting up and going, rather than timing buses and trains. Its a beautiful area to explore if you want to go walking and swimming. The harbour is lovely and a nice place to sit and have dinner but doing this every night became a bit tedious in our case, so we ended up buying some stuff at the supermarket and making our own light dinner, while sipping a nice glass of wine and sitting on the balcony looking at the stars. If the tree in front of the balcony is chopped down a bit (maybe it is now), it would be a wonderful view! I know its not quite that simple but still......... All-in-all, it was a very nice relaxing few days - but next time, we'd definitely take a car and explore the area more, without the local transport restrictions. By the way, the owners are very nice and helpful, and that counts for a lot. We didn't get the same treatment when we rented further along the coast the year before, so thank you all the best to Victor and Annika!

Lovely holiday apartment

We had a great week in this apartment in charming Cassis. It is very well equipped, very conveniently located and comfortable. We were staying there with our 9 and 13 year old children. What we enjoyed above all was the wonderful view from the dinner table and the balcony. Miss it already.

Great stay in Cassis!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Lilas apartment in Cassis for five nights. We had visited Cassis several years ago and decided to use the town as a base for this trip. Staying in an apartment was definitely the right choice. Lilas is only a few minutes walk from the town center. Having an apartment gives you the freedom to come and go as you please. We enjoyed being able to take a break during the day or eat in if we didn't feel like going to a restaurant for dinner. There is a nearby market and many small shops in town to buy food and supplies. In addition, since we had driven to Cassis, we appreciated the private car park. Not having to pay to park your vehicle in town is a big plus. The apartment itself is great. The view from the living area and bedroom is fantastic. The apartment is clean and nicely equipped. We took advantage of the washing machine to do a little laundry before travelling to our next stop. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet for sleeping. The wifi worked perfectly and there are several English language channels available on the television. If you want to experience Cassis as a local I would recommend staying at Lilas.

A week in beautiful Cassis

We enjoyed a week in Annika's apartment within a short walk of the poetry of Cassis. The rooms are large, full of light, nicely furnished and quite comfortable. The bed is very comfortable with good quality linens. The tub and shower have plenty of hot water and there are enough big towels. The kitchen is well equipped for making meals with the delicious local fish, vegetables, cheese and fruit from the twice weekly farmers markets, the fishermen right off the boats and the local,supermarket and bakery, all within walking distance. Our car was safely parked in the adjacent private parking lot. It's an easy drive into MARSEILLES where we found lots to do. We enjoyed side trips to Hyeres, Bandol and other local villages. It was too cool for the beach and swimming, but we did take an enjoyable boat trip to view the scenic calanques outside the harbor. Annika is easy to communicate with while arranging a stay and Victor is there to greet you and show you around the apartment. I hope we can return in a year or two, meanwhile we recommend it to you and our friends. Cassis is a special part of the French coast and Annika's apartment made us feel right at home there.

We fell in love with Cassis whilst on a rock climbing trip several years ago.
