We love this mid century home from the 1950's formerly known as Canty's Cottage. Vintage, yet freshly painted and redecorated.
Cantaloupe Cottage is a classic Mid Century Modern island home built in the 1950’s and completely restored with Central AC and all modern updates, this ground level, pet-friendly home features a large fully fenced back and side yards with views of the Back River and 1.5 blocks to Alley 3- the local Kayak launch area.
3 bedrooms and 1.25 bathrooms (one full bathroom with a tub/shower combo and one shower-only room), plus a Florida room and an amazing kitchen, this home is a little charmer!

The Tybee Tiki-Hut is the ultimate finishing touch! Blend your margaritas (or smoothies ~ we won't judge!) and enjoy a little island style right here!

Home Away From Home

This house was perfect for us. The fenced in yard was a huge plus as we were traveling with pets. They were able to burn off some energy in the yard. The house was exactly as the pictures showed and how the listing was described. The location was good too. Walking distance to the beaches and main downtown area. We also took advantage of the short drive to Savannah for some tours and food. This house was a great home away from home and we’d recommend it to anyone traveling with kids and pets. Thanks!

Great and quiet spot!

Easy walk to multiple beach access spots and food, but off Butler enough to be quiet. Clean and well appointed for a vacation stay.

Close to the beach!

We really enjoyed our stay at Canteloupe Cottage. The property was very nice on a pleasant, quiet road. We were walking/biking distance from the Chatham Rd beach access point, and several other inlet access points. We had a lot of fun.

The house is in walking distance of the beach and places to eat. It was the perfect size for our family of 5 plus our fur baby! The lady at mermaid cottages was super nice. I would recommended this house to stay in. We would stay there again.

Amazing family getaway

The Cantaloupe Cottage was the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with family. We were a short bike ride away from the beach and many restaurants. The house had everything needed for great vacation. The property managers were totally awesome and extremely accommodating. We look forward to coming back to Tybee and staying in a Mermaid Cottage again.
