Such a fantastic stay! We stayed at this property for 2 nights and it met all our expectations. The rooms were clean and nice, a towel folded on each of the beds. The kitchen had all the essentials, the washing machine was great, and it was an amazing stop on our trip. Couldn’t recommend this property more.

A wonderful property. Lived up to all its expectations. The host was super efficient, and easy to chat to. My only slight reservation about stopping again was something which the house and its owner could do nothing about it, and that was, the cars racing through the village. Our side road was quiet, but the B road at the bottom was dangerous especially if you had, as we did a 4 and an 8 year old. The village certainly could do with a 20 mph sign on the road or speed bumps.

Amazing location, minutes from Stow. We could hear the bells from the church in Stow, but didn’t have to deal with any of the traffic. The place was exactly as described, we loved it. Our son and his girlfriend stayed in the water tower and enjoyed having a little private area just for themselves. Mike was great with communication. We would 100% come back.

The accommodation is located in a beautiful little town and has everything your heart desires. It is very tastefully furnished, and we and our whole family felt very comfortable. It was also very quiet at night, and we were able to set off on many wonderful excursions from there. Many thanks to the owners; we felt well looked after at all times.

The cottage is beautiful and spacious. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and a large Tesco is about 8 minutes away. The beds are incredibly comfortable, a rarity in a rental property! The location is central to so many amazing sights. Excellent stay in the Cotswolds!

Caffrey's cottage was a delight and we're grateful to Mike for such helpful communication throughout. The property is very well appointed and offers access from the front door to main walking routes for the Slaughters and Naunton as well to Stow itself (a 25-30 minute walk and barely any distance in a car).

About the host

Hosted by Mike Newton

Host profile image

I live near Ashbourne in Derbyshire, the so called "Gateway to the Peaks" but I have always loved travelling to the Cotswolds for long weekend breaks and holidays. I felt the time was right back in 2016 to purchase my own country bolthole in the area and be able to explore even more of this beautiful part of the country.

Why they chose this property

From the moment I first walked into Caffreys Cottage, I immediately felt at home and the feeling of space generated by the open plan ground floor was inherent from that moment. The Cottage has the benefit of all modern facilities but also has the character features that I was looking for.

What makes this property unique

I believe that the Cottage is a real home from home, is bright and airy in the summer but also cosy and snug in the colder months. Furnished beautifully, comfort has not been compromised and the location is perfect to take full advantage of all that the Cotswolds has to offer.
