Elizabeth, a pleasure to meet you all and spend time with you. I hope you are enjoying the remainder of the trip. All the best. J
Really nice cottage, well furnished and well equipped as long as you don't want to do much cooking (we didn't so it was perfect). The hosts were friendly and helpful and provided fantastic breakfast delivered to our door every day.
Most enjoyable! He was the best host we have ever had. So helpful and gracious!
The property was perfect. We originally planned the trip in 2020. He kept the reservation for us for two years. We attended the 150 th Open so this meant a lot!

Situated right beside the Falkland Castle and right off the High Street, this lovely cottage is built in a former stone ruin. The space is very comfortable, beautifully designed and complete with everything you would need. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast they offered is very good. I loved this cottage and by staying here was able to enjoy one of the most quaint villages in Scotland with lots to see and do. The highlight of my 2 week trip was staying here.

Margret, thanks so much for your lovely review. I hope the rest of your trip goes well. All the best to you both. .....the laundry strips are a revelation. J
My wife, our niece, and I stayed here for 3 nights. It was fabulous!. The proprietor, John, was so helpful. He has thought of everything. He brought us a delicious breakfast each morning, and had wonderful suggestions for hikes and sightseeing. Falkland is a lovely small town, and makes for a great home base for exploring central Scotland. We loved exploring the trails through the Falkland estate, walking in the Lomond hills, and the palace, of course, which is right next door. We definitely want to come back.

Don't let the name mislead you! The ruin is a wonderfully renovated property in a beautiful village. Everything was clean and comfortable and the hosts were very welcoming. Having breakfast delivered each morning was a real treat. I would recommend this property to anyone!
What a beautiful property and such warm hospitality! I can’t say enough. Just a perfect experience. I can’t wait to come back to the Ruin at Maspie House!
A fantastic find: the cottage was immaculate and truly lovely. Right in the centre of Falkland, so easy access to three pubs, cafe, deli and shops. This is a B&B deal, and the breakfast choices are outstanding. A superb stay. Thank you.
Very clean and well thought out property. With nice additional touches and lovely breakfast. Bed was extremely comfortable. Great location in village. Perfect for a weekend break. We'll be back!
What a lovely find. The house is small but was totally perfect for us.
It is beautifully finished and had everything we needed for a weekend. John and Peta were lovely. Breakfast was amazing as well. I'd definitely go back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

So pleased that you enjoyed your break. It's been a challenging time but it provided time to tidy the garden and refresh the ruin. Happy to see our efforts help to provide a relaxing retreat.
We really enjoyed our time in the area, property was quite small for our family but that meant we were up and out early each morning.
As per other reviews the breakfast was magnificent each morning, granola probably the best I have ever tasted.
John was very pleasant throughout and also helped out with a ketchup emergency when the chippy in Cupar didn't have any for the kids!
Would highly recommend and will be back.
Lovely little property in the charming town of Falkland right next to the Palace. Well looked after by John with excellent breakfast brought to the door.
If you’re wondering if this cottage is the right one for you then wonder no more. It’s perfect in every aspect. The location, the host, the beds (most comfortable ever), the cleanliness (pristine) ... I could go on and on. As for the breakfast, no description could do it justice. In addition, the precautions that had been taken in view of covid meant that we felt extremely safe and comfortable within the cottage. A wonderful experience!
