While there’s plenty to do in this area, including day visits to nearby historic towns like Staunton, Lexington, and Charlottesville, just spending a few quiet nights in the house is almost vacation enough with its warm 200 year old re-purposed heart pine beams, slate floors, wood stove for those cold winter nights, huge sun-room, two living rooms, one with a pull-out couch and large window seat, 3 well appointed bedrooms, small sleeping porch, and 2 full bathrooms. There is Wi-Fi through-out the house, Direct TV with premium channels, and DVD players, so no one has to be without entertainment. Outside, there is a small deck nestled under the trees next to the garden, a great fire-pit in the back yard perfect for evening gatherings under the stars, and a basketball court to keep the kids busy during the day. The 11 acre property has beautiful wooded trails and a path leading right down to the babbling Spruce Creek that runs through it, not to mention open pasture land with gorgeous vistas and views of the surrounding mountains. Get up early and hike out into the pasture to see the sun come up over the mountains or sleep late and then take a short walk to tour the Bold Rock Hard Cider house just down the street or ride your bike down the “Brew Ridge Trail” to Red Wolf or Devil’s Backbone, eat a terrific meal and taste some local craft beers! There’s so much to do (or not to do if you prefer), you’ll love spending time here!
