Atsipopoulo holiday lettings

The map on here isn’t right, but the villa is actually incredibly easy to find. Brand new, really high spec there was more than enough room for the 5 of us. There is a supermarket literally a minute away, but bakeries, tavernas etc in the village. Pool was great, along with all the outside area. Wifi fast for the kids and the kitchen has everything you need and more. We’ve stayed locally before and would definitely stay here again, it’s super easy to drive down to the Old Town when required and there is enough locallly if nobody wants to drive! Recommended

I could not recommend this villa more. The property is exactly as you see on the photos, it is a stunning villa that is definitely set up for eight visitors. George and his family are incredibly welcoming hosts, they could not have done more for us during our stay. The villa was clean and tidy. It was a great base to explore the area. The pool is great, we paid to have it heated and made use of it every day. The villa made this a very special family holiday.

Wonderful stay, host very responsive and helpful. Superb garden and pool, fantastic for families. Beautiful location, the children loved seeing the goats and sheep walk by each day and they were so excited when they got to visit the farm and milk the goats! Thank you Roula and family. Wow…. This holiday and Villa was amazing. We arrived quite late in the evening and we’re still greeted by George and his family who had thoughtfully provided sandwiches, pastries and some Raki. George gave us a run through and walk round of this stunning Villa. The Villa is beautiful with plenty of room for our party of 8 people. This Villa has everything you need for a perfect stay The Villa is immaculate and you feel guilty for making any mess but with 6 teeens/young adults this wasn’t easy lol The outside area is where we spent most of our time chilling on the upstairs terrace and enjoying the pool and bbq. The local amenities are sufficient enough to provide you with.most of your daily needs and the local bakery and pizza place are very friendly. We made constant use of the local bus at EUR1.40 taking us into the beautiful town of Rethymon where there is everything you can imagine to complete your perfect holiday. We would all like to personally thank George and his family for hosting and providing the perfect setting for a great family holiday. We would love to return again in the future

Lovely property, really friendly host who was always on hand to help and offer advice. Lovely pool and view. Well maintained property and easy to find. You would definitely require a car to get around. Buses do run but we found it much easier to have a car for getting to and from beaches and restaurants etc.

We had a great stay! The villa is beautifully decorated, very clean & homely. It is nicely located in the middle of the village, so very easy to pop in & get supplies but also very quiet & private. The hosts are very attentive & helpful! The homemade goodies are delicious thank you! It is easy to drive or catch a bus into the main town. The house is fully kitted out with everything needed. My only suggestion would be for more storage in the bedrooms for clothes.

We had a lovely week at the Calergi residence. Although split into individual self catering units it has the feel of a family run hotel. We were very impressed with the attention to detail in every aspect. Nothing was too much trouble. On the rare occasion there was something missing, it was found without delay. We had all the facilities we needed – a pool, a sunbathing terrace and a variety of quiet spaces to sit. Our accommodation included a good sized bedroom, adequate kitchen space/facilities plus outside seating and dining table. It was scrupulously clean and well furnished. The Calgeri residence is about 3 kilometres from Rethymno and is situated in the quiet village of Atsipopoulo. The village has around four tavernas, together with some other smaller eateries, within walking distance. They produce good quality food. For those who want greater variety in an idyllic setting there is the old town area of Rethymno, which has scores of restaurants and cafes, shops and places of interest. Rethymno is an easy drive away and is a complete contrast to the peaceful village of Atsipopoulo. We recommend this accommodation for those seeking something a little more Cretan than the main tourist attractions of Rethymno. Having said this, for those whose Greek is a little faltering, English is widely spoken and Manolis and his parents (who manage the property) speak it very well indeed. There are a couple of villages within short driving distance offering nice tavernas. Close to the accommodation is a supermarket, a bakery and other small shops. For those wanting partying to the small hours this isn’t the place, but for those looking for a taste of essential Crete this gets pretty close. Although not advertised, we were treated to a very pleasant light self-service breakfast each morning. A very nice welcoming touch. Manolis and his parents are lovely people who offer a warm welcome to visitors. They are anxious to make guests feel at home and make the most of the facilities. We would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation.
