A real botanical garden

This property is on a great piece of land with amazing desert vegetation and lots of outdoor seating to enjoy it -- it had a real country feel. Our hosts met us to familiarize us with the property, and left wine and flowers in the casita for us. We are younger, active retirees, so we walked a lot, passing many nearby equestrian properties. We would definitely come back another time for another visit in the midst of a beautifully designed and kept desert garden.

A Delightful Retreat

Thanks to Jon and Trisha and Sam for offering this wonderful place to spend time enjoying nature and the beauty of the Tucson mountains. This small, unique casita offered a simple life with amenities that were appealing to us. The quiet, private, and peace in the midst of the conveniences of shopping and restaurants made this perfect for us. Close to hiking, churches, and day trips to historic places. Due to the US virus health crisis that was happening just as we arrived our visit was cut short so we missed out on many restaurants and shops that had closed down. We were able to enjoy hiking in 5 parks within minutes of this location that were stunning. We would surely return to this place in the future.

It was a experience of a lifetime!

We visited the Casita after the sudden death of my sister. It was the perfect spot for us , amazing sunrises and sunsets, bobcats and coyotes.. Curved billled thrashers ran between my legs and Costa’s Hummingbirds buzzed my ears. Solitude and peace and quiet no tv for thirty days ! Can’t wait to return to the Sagauro and cholla!

Ahhhhh!

What a great little hideaway! We live complicated lives with a lot of stress. This place gave us the space to decompress and breathe. Chris and John made it so easy to feel welcome and at home even though we were delayed on our arrival. John, we loved the hand-drawn map to everywhere we needed - it was spot on.

Desert Delight!

Truly a great hide away, but yet so close to shopping, movies and mountain hiking. Beautiful, peaceful solitude, just what we were looking for. The casita is very clean and comfy. Lots of indoor and outdoor sitting areas. Great little kitchen--they even had organic morning coffee for us. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and felt comfortable immediately with our hosts, Chris and John. The desert was amazing, it did feel like a National Park, but there wasn't any other people about. We heard coyotes and saw rabbits and a deer walked by the front window one morning--it was magical. Thank you for this nature retreat. Looking forward to our next get-away there! Yoshi & Antonio

Hello and welcome to our desert retreat. My husband, John and I having been coming here each winter since 1996 and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
We thought that we would like to share this unique retreat with fellow nature lovers and people in need of rejuvenation.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the privacy of the desert. We had always intended to build a larger home on the property, but, we just couldn't bear the thought of having to tear up any of the natural beauty just to build, so we simply enjoyed the small casita during our winters here.

What makes this property unique

The peace and quiet is amazing. You truly can hear yourself think. The night skies are breathtaking. The air is fresh and clean. The nature touches the deepest part of your heart. The love is here, and it rejuvenates.
