Our house is the ideal place to take in the real atmosphere of the middle-age medina of Fes.
Dar7louyat is located close to the famous University of al-Karaouine (or Karaouine mosque), recognised by th UNESCO as the world's oldest university. As Titus Burckhardt put it in his books, you can still feel the peculiar atmosphere of spirituality and scholarship of that place. Just outside the house, you can drown yourself among all types of crafts. You will even meet some craftmen who are the last ones to know their specific skills. Such are the horn combs maker or the cedarwood buckets maker. Going for a quiet and watchful walk will take you centuries back at the time of real handmade crafts

The architectural features of Dar7louyat make it a special haven of peace and rest after the busy medina.
Four groups of high colomns soar up from each corner of the patio towards the sky through the opening of the terrasse. The bedrooms and suites open onto this deep and bright patio, showing off multiple glimpses of light.
3 suites are equiped with air-con and reverse heating. Heating of the whole house and of each room is also provided.
Our cook cooks wonderful traditional morrocoan cooking.
The renting of separate rooms is also possible (see our website).
Rates of renting :
- 40 € per night and per person
- specila rates for groups beyond 12

I am a psychiatrist working in the East of France fond of Morocco, its traditions, craftwork and architecture. My wife is an artist. We enjoyed the long restoration of this house and now we enjoy welcoming people in it to share a real experience of Morocco.

Our house is 15th century old and was proceeded a long and careful restoration according to the traditional rules of local architecture and the artistic trends of the owner.
Dar 7 Louyat is located near Seffarine square where coppersmiths can be seen hammering their wares into shape, and close to the Qarayouine mosque, from which the call of the muezzin beats the rythm of the day.
Dar 7 Louyat can accomodate up to 16 people. Comfort for a relaxing stay is provided thanks to 6 large bedrooms each with its own bathroom.
Our housekeeper and our cook will make sure your stay be comfortable, providing all the arrangements you need and cooking wonderful morrocan cuisine.
