Come and stay at Knockcarrig House and you will find your ideal balance between town and country. Our newly built property is situated on the edge of our private 20 acre farm, yet is less than a 5 minute drive to Killarney.

Located just off the N22 in the residential area of Lissivigeen, Knockcarrig House offers you the perfect base for touring the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Beara. Green fields surround the house and in the Summer you will find our cattle enjoying all that lovely grass that nature has to offer :)

Elegant country living awaits you at Knockcarrig House. Parts of the interior are drawn from the natural landscape-from the golden hue of hay in the Summer to the proud pink foxgloves found in the mossy stone ditches. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with two possessing both a separate bath and shower.

Enjoy fabulous feasts at our custom designed 10 seater oak table found in our panoramic dining room which boasts mountain and meadow views. Relax in the evening with a good book in front of a roaring fire or challenge someone to a game of chess- the winner doesn't have to do the dishes!

Whether you wish to explore Killarney's lakes, climb its mountains, cycle its hills and valleys or stay put and enjoy the good life , the choice is yours........................

The kitchen was amazing and very large - as was the entire house! The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable! Towels were thick and very nice. Noelle was a gracious host and had a welcome basket of food and wine when we arrived. This is one of the best places we have stayed at in all our travels! Beautiful grounds just outside of the city (5 minute drive to town). If you are in Killarney, you have to stay here!

We absolutely loved our stay at this property! Noelle and her family were amazing hosts! The house had everything you needed and more! So many thoughtful touches..We were welcomed with a beautiful basket filled with local treats, bread, coffee, tea as well as fresh milk and butter. It made our first night so easy as we did not need to run out for essentials. The location was ideal for exploring the town center of Killarney as well as all the beautiful area sights. I would without a doubt stay at Noelle’s property again. Great experience!

Noelle's home was absolutely gorgeous--wish we could have stayed longer than 3 nights! From the smooth check-in process to the personal touches (including local food from their farm, among other treats), our stay here felt cozy and luxurious at the same time. It's only about 5 minutes down the road from the busy Killarney center, but you feel totally secluded on the property, and it was the perfect place to rest and recharge after days exploring Killarney National Park, the Ring of Kerry, and so much more. Highly recommend!

We are a family of 8 with an 5 year old granddaughter. Our stay could not have been better. Our host Noelle was extremely helpful and the house had everything we needed. We mixed dining in and dining out. The kitchen was very well appointed and had everything we needed. Close to town to make hitting the pubs at night and exploring in the day very easy. I hope to be back in Killarney again and when we do we will stay here again. The cows in the backyard were an extra treat for all of us but especially my granddaughter.

House is a real gem!!!! We had an absolutely fantastic time! The property was spotless, well-equipped, and perfectly situated to Killarney town. Noelle was fantastic, proactive and friendly, making check-in seamless. Plenty of space for everyone to relax, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals together. Truly the best host and house!

The house is perfection in a wonderful and serene location next to two sweet cows who we fell in love with. The pictures do not do this property justice. Lovely setting on the edge of town with the feel of being alone in the country. Noelle was extremely accommodating, and prompt. We arrived quite late in the evening during one of the bank holidays for the locals. Noelle meet us at the home with a lovely welcoming basket of goodies. All the basic essentials were at the home, including detergent and fabric softener. Which made it easy for us arriving late as it meant we did not have to turn back out to grab coffee or creamer. Do know, although you are close to town and a local pub, there are no public footpaths, so you will absolutely need a car to get every where. If you don’t plan on renting one, the taxis are easy, and very much readily available. However, I suggest renting a car as you are very near many attraction and historical sights to visit, for short (or long) day trips. I would defiantly stay at this charming home again. There are five bedrooms with on suites, a washer and dryer, games, puzzles and the most gorgeous sunsets. Don’t forget to grab fresh eggs from the nieghbor a few doors down. We stayed a total of ten days, and were not ready to level when our journey was over.

Perfect location for our Killarney holiday

We had a lovely stay at Knockcarrig House. Noelle was a great host and very helpful. The location was perfect to easily pop into Killarney Centre or take in the various highlights of the southwest of Ireland. We were a group of 8 and this provided plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable for the week. Very highly recommended.

Welcome to Knockcarrig House, Killarney, Ireland!

Here we offer a little bit of Irish country living in Killarney to holidaymakers. We built Knockcarrig on the edge of our private 20 acre cattle farm which is less than a 10 minute drive to the town centre of Killarney.
'Knockcarrig' comes from the Irish language which means hill of the stones. As farmers who feel an incredible link to the land, it was only fitting to call our house after the farm land on which it is found.

If you were to literally start digging in the fields, you would find plenty of stones in the earth! Traditionally these stones were then used to build walls to divide the fields of the farm. And as for the hill part- well if you were to walk from one end of the farm to the other, you would find yourself climbing a little hill which gives you a panoramic view of the magnificent McGillicuddy Reek mountains!
