This exceptional holiday cottage is designed to sleep 2 people in an idyllic setting. Le Colombier Saint-Véran is located in the heart of the Grands Causses Nature Park which is listed Unesco World Heritage and close to the Millau Viaduct and the Tarn Gorge. Set back from the medieval hamlet of Saint-Véran, this wonderful property has been listed 5-star touristic furnished accommodation in June 2014. Recently renovated in perfect harmony with its environment, you will enjoy top-of-the-range services in terms of comfort and character. True relaxing oasis, you will relax by the private heated pool nested in its green setting. Thanks to its South exposure, you will enjoy the hot sunlight. The spectacular panoramic views over the turquoise water of La Dourbie will amaze you. True haven of peace, you will love the tranquillity of this private place where there are so many things to see. The holiday cottage is accessible via a small tarmac path that winds up to the Dourbie Gorge. Chantal and Michel will warmly welcome you in this place where everything has been designed, both outside and inside, to make you feel privileged. A living room with television, DVD player, Wi-Fi and phone, a bedroom with 160x200 cm bed, a shower room with 120x90 cm walk-in shower built in the rock, separate toilet with washbasin, toilet paper and soap, fully fitted kitchen/dining room with 3-ring ceramic hob, combined oven and microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, electric coffee machine, kettle, toaster, food processor, blender, etc., laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer (products provided), 9x4 m private outdoor pool heated from 1st April to 30th October, private terrace and garden, loggia with barbecue/plancha area, house/bath linen provided and changed once a week, maintenance of the garden/pool and luggage handler service provided.

Perfect

I would highly recommend this property. Stunning position with fabulous views, south facing so lots of sun. The house itself has every luxury you could need but our favourite part was the outside BBQ area and heated swimming pool. Complete privacy, Michel our host was a great help when we arrived. The best holiday rental we have ever had.

Tranquil Views!

Michel and Chantal’s guest house is just a little paradise! It is situated in a hamlet 2k down a single lane road and above the valley, giving it a spectacular view of the incredibly green hills during the day and stars galore at night. You won’t want to leave the property! The pool area is really something special. Not only does it keep you cool on hot summer days, but it is the most relaxing space, with just enough shade, just enough sun, and the spectacular view to enjoy while you float in the warm water! The gas BBQ area is also a greatly appreciated feature. Everything you need is supplied and it really makes cooking a pleasure. We grilled almost every night and loved it! Inside, the bed is cozy with quality linens. There is plenty of storage and a very quiet fan to keep you cool. The bathroom towels are soft and plentiful. The living area has what you need, including a huge video collection. We almost wished we had a few rainy days so we’d have a good excuse to just watch movies all day! The kitchen is well stocked and easy to prep food, cook, and clean in each day. A washer is also available for guests to use. It’s about 300 steps from where you park to the front door, so if mobility issues are a concern, be advised. There are also stairs in the house from the kitchen up to the bedroom. There is a great hike out through a tree lined path behind the village. It is marked and easy to find if you wonder through the village. It was a very fun hike! You can also go the opposite direction and follow the trail high above the main road below in the valley. Two great hikes, right from the house! Michel was a great host. He answered our questions right away and provided us with great tips for hikes further afield. He has a truck he uses to bring your luggage and supplies from the parking area to the house, very helpful! He cleans the pool every single morning, so by the time you are up it is sparkling clean and waiting for you to jump in! If you enjoy a slower pace, this is a great place to just chill out, relax, and refuel. If you like to be out and about, there are tons of things to do in the area, and then you have that beautiful pool to return to after your adventures are done for the day. This is a unique space, very comfortable, and makes you never want to leave! Thanks Michel and Chantal!

Een private gite met eigen zwembad op een super locatie.Het zicht vanop het terras en aan het zwembad is subliem.Ook binnen voorzien van al het nodige comfort.De ligging is uniek in dit oude prachtig gelegen dorpje aan het einde vaan doodlopende weg die voor wat avontuur zorgt.

Quel bel endroit reposant, tranquille, avec une vue magnifique. Un gîte très bien équipé, très agréable à vivre, surtout bien aménagé.Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine de vacances sur les hauteurs.La piscine est tous les jours entretenue dans la discrétion dont reflètent les propriétaires. Un endroit à recommander et à ne pas oublier d’y revenir.Un barbecue équipé et tout est bien pensé pour l’entretien.Une cuisine qui permet un usage très facile et rapide. Des produits d’entretien présents. Tous les électros présents.. Vraiment, nous n’avons rien de négatif à écrire. Merci pour ce beau séjour .

Fantastic stay at this amazing gite!

Nestled high on the hillside, with views over the surrounding countryside, this characterful, well-equipped property is a real find! The outdoor space is particularly impressive, with multiple sitting-out areas and a lovely pool.

Ein kleines Paradies in den Bergen

Wer die Einsamkeit und Ruhe in grandioser Natur liebt, und eine ein wenig abenteuerliche Anfahrtsstrecke hoch in die Berge nicht scheut, findet in dem kleinen Weiler Saint Véran ein kleines Paradies. Ein gut ausgestattetes und liebevoll eingerichtetes Ferienhaus mit einem fantastischen Außenbereich samt Pool lassen die Ferientage viel zu schnell vergehen. Wir haben erlebnisreiche Wanderungen vom Haus aus in die wunderbare Natur genossen, aber auch tolle Ausflüge mit dem Auto in die abwechslungsreiche Umgebung unternommen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten allerdings sind etwas weiter entfernt entweder in Nant (15 km) oder in Millau (18km). Ein kühles Glas Rosé am Abend auf der Terrasse unter einem unglaublichen Sternenhimmel lassen einen den Alltag schnell vergessen. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Claudia und Josef (Deutschland)

Closer to heaven

Staying at Le Colombier at Saint Veran means being closer to heaven. Wonderfully decorated, this delightful gem surprises with its heavenly vistas as much as with its cozy design. The owners have an eye for detail, both inside and outside.   We are sure it will remain a favorite of ours for years to come.

le paradis sur la roche

nous avons passé une semaine magnifique. le calme absolu, une piscine très bien chauffé sans chlore et entretenue par le propriétaire tous les jours le rêve quoi propriétaire présent et discret qui vient chercher vos baguages avec son 4/4 au parking et inverse à votre départ car vous devez vous garez là (100m) avant de descendre à votre gîte. La situation est exceptionnelle mais attention celui qui a peur du vide est servi. petite route très sinueuse celui qui n'a pas l'habitude ou peur des ravins attention avant de vous y aventurez mais en allant doucement on y arrive. Car au bout de celle ci 2km environ vous avez un pt village et une vue comme sur les cartes postales. Nous y retournerons.A bientôt. Noël et Isabelle (Belgique)

INDRUKWEKKEND EN RUSTIG

In een klein dorpje bovenin de Gorges De Dourbie bevind zich dit pareltje. Zeer comfortabel huisje voor 2 personen mét zwembad. Indrukwekkende vergezichten! Het huisje heeft alle comfort en we hebben er een ongelooflijke week mogen vertoeven. Het is er zeer rustig en je hebt er van niemand last. De eigenaars Chantal en Michel zijn ongelooflijk vriendelijke en aangename mensen en zorgen ervoor dat je niets te kort komt! Aanrader voor diegene die rust en authenticiteit zoeken. Tip, voor je inkopen kan je beter naar Nant (17km) dan naar Millau (18km) rijden, het is er veel gezelliger en rustiger.

Excellente maison de vacances

La maison est très bien située avec une vue superbe sur la vallée. Elle se trouve dans un village typique d'où l'on peut faire des ballades en pleine nature. La maison est tout équippée, il y a même un BBQ couvert et la piscine est privative. L'acceuil est chaleureux et les propriétaires font tout pour rendre le séjour agréable. La région est ravissante, pour nous une véritablke découverte. On mange bien à Nant, à 15 km. Tout près se trouve le Chaos de Montpellier-le-Vieux et la grotte de Aven Armand. Deux merveilles de la nature, qu'il faut absolument visiter. Les nombreuses gorges invitent à la randonnée et aux sports nautiques. Nous espérons y retourner.

Ambiance et confort

À Saint-Véran, nous avons adoré la proximité de la nature, la fraîcheur de la montagne, le charme des vieilles pierres au coeur d'un village retiré. Le lieu a quelque chose de magique, hors du temps, surtout au crépuscule et au lever du jour. Le gîte, de qualité et très bien équipé, propose tout le confort moderne. La piscine est idéalement située en surplomb et offre une vue spectaculaire. Bref, la location tient toutes ses promesses! À savoir: le chemin étroit qui mène au Colombier s'élève en lacets au-dessus des gorges de la Dourbie. Le parcourir matin et soir reste une expérience dont on se rappelle... avec un petit frisson!

perfect, peaceful holiday

This beautiful cottage is set in the most stunning scenery in this unique area of France; the swimming pool was warm and inviting with impressive views. Michel and Chantal were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive, with good advice on where to visit, where to eat, etc. We would definitely return here as we had such a relaxing time and there is still so much more to see. Cherry and Roger.

Une semaine délicieuse

Les photos donnent envie, la réalité est encore mieux! Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans un gîte harmonieux et "fonctionnel", accueillis par des propriétaires aux petits soins pour leurs hôtes et aux conversations très intéressantes. Qui plus est, la région est magnifique. Enfin, cerise sur le gâteau, un coin-piscine très attirant ( et une eau SANS CHLORE ). Des "étoiles" parfaitement méritées. Monique et Yves
