We were visiting the UK from Australia and Birch Tree Barn was a delightful place to spend a quiet week between visiting relatives. Beautiful location, excellent facilities and very friendly hosts. Thank you Gillian and Alex for making us feel so welcome.
We love this place. This was our second visit, on holiday from Australia and lived up to all our expectations, including flying the Australian flag. The barn is well equiped, very clean and comfortable. Gill and Alex are very helpful, welcoming and accommodating.
Really hope to visit again.
Beautiful views, peaceful and tranquil area. Very relaxing and refreshing stay. Everything was provided. The pound cake was scrumptious. The hosts were fantastic! The touch with our homeland flags—awesome!
We are a busy family and needed a bit of tranquility to work, revise and relax. The Birch Barn with its light and spacious feel, lovely views and touches of luxury (bed linens and rain shower), was perfect. Highly recommended.
A lovely barn with its own garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this modern and well kept barn. Everything we needed was supplied and the homemade cake in the welcome pack on arrival was delicious. The host Gill was lovely and she checked on us serval times to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying ourselves. There’s lots to see and do in the surrounding area including National Trust properties, gardens and castles. And if you’re a Gavin and Stacey fan we’d highly recommend the Gavin and Stacey tour from Barry Island in Dave’s coach!
This is our second stay at the Birch Tree Barn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay both times. Lots of space and a full kitchen. Overlooks pastures in a beautiful location. Conveniently located in Abergavenny that is close to many villages and towns to visit in Wales or England. Gill is a wonderful host and made us feel welcome. 5 Star and highly recommended!
Birch Tree Barn is a beautifully appointed barn conversion with long reaching countryside views. In June the fields were yellow with buttercups! We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Communication with the owners was excellent. We would definitely return.
Very comfortable and nicely decorated accomodation, warm hospitality and help, really nice to find butter, milk, bread and cake to survive first evening, cozy rural athmosphere soothing for stressed city people, thanks a lot to Gill and Alex
Very clean well maintained property with everything provided. Friendly owner and we were pleased to have a welcome pack consisting of basic provisions. All together a very pleasant and worthwhile stay. We would however recommend one minor thing: a grab handle for the bath/shower.
It is a very nice, quiet and private house with beautiful views. Gill gives you a warm welcome feeling. We certainly come back when we are again in the area.

We had a wonderful stay at Birch Tree Barn. The apartment was well furnished with everything we need. There are beautiful views in every direction. Gill was a great host, and stayed in touch to make sure we had everything we needed. Lovely little villages to explore, right on your doorstop. Great escape to the countryside!
Very comfortable cottage near the Brecon Beacons in South Wales. The cottage is very well-equiped, modern and offers all you can need. The view on the countryside is fantastic and the environment is very quiet. Gill and her husband are very friendly and always ready to help. Their 3 dogs are very kind and my children enjoyed a lot playing with them in the big garden. There are many fantastic places to visit around. We spent a great holiday time at Birch Tree Barn. A location not to miss if you want to stay in this area.
The Birch Tree Barn is the perfect place to make your base for the Abergvanny area. Located between the town and Raglan there is so much to see and do in the area. Gillian was an excellent host with great communication before and during our stay. The "Barn" (it's the upper floor of a converted barn but is a fully modern and furnished house) was delightfully appointed and had everything you'd need for your stay, plus wonderful extras to welcome you. Very comfortable beds, relaxing waterfall shower, spacious living area, views out across the fields from the kitchen sink and your own private garden to relax in (if you can find time from all the things to see and do).
Five stars, definitely worth a first visit and many follow up ones roo
Our host contacted us the day before our arrival which resulted in our being able to check in earlier. The host gave us a personal overview of the property and provided enough breakfast foods and cake to carry us until we had groceries. The location was easy distance to Abergavenny and hikes in the area. The only concern is the access to the property. It's not well marked and hard to make the turn without being very conscious of the traffic. We found it easier to turn at the adjoining property turnoff and then come back to the entry when there was no traffic. Overall, the hosts have a lovely property and ensured that our stay was great.
Gill was a truly wonderful host. On arrival, we had everything we needed, and the lemon drizzle cake was delicious. The barn is very well equipped and cosy, plus it's very well located for the family day trips we enjoyed during our stay. Gill and Andy were so lovely, we'd definitely book again!
Wunderschöne Ferienwohnung mit Aussicht. Super gepflegt und wunderbar ausgestattet. Und die Krönung sind die super netten Gastgeber Gill und Alex. Einfach nur perfekt!
