Our group of 13 had a wonderful stay at the villa. My personal highlights were the cooking lesson and the hot tub which was always ready to hop into. The villa was very tastefully decorated and comfortable. Sitting on the terrace in the evenings was also very enjoyable. The location was very tranquil and the owners of the villa were very approachable and friendly.

We absolutely loved staying at Podere Il Doccio. Easy reserve made the reservation process very swift and simple. When we arrived we were greeted by Irene who was fantastic, she was so welcoming and helpful with showing us around the property and giving us so much information on things we could do nearby. Irene was also easy to contact to help us make dinner reservations and put together itineraries for us over our trip. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We were a big group and there was space for all of us, including them accommodating us and adding an extra bed. The pool was beautiful and the we thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the evenings on the terrace. I couldn't recommend staying here enough. Thank you for our wonderful stay.

Better than "excellent", more precisely our experience was extraordinary.....in every way. I would return to Villa Il Doccio if at all possible, on another visit. Everyone, really everyone, in my family of 12 from ages 70 years (me) to 10 months (grandbaby Holiis) celebrated this choice of vacation locations. Irene, our host, made us feel as if we were her special and only guests. The dinner she and her brother Eduardo prepared for us from scratch, complete with cooking lessons for the kids, was memorable. Enjoying this dinner, prepared in part by us, will be a etched in our collective minds forever....sitting at the long table on the veranda, under the grapevines....fantastic. The renewed rustic house with 4 separate living quarters was even better than described, comfortable and charming. The pool area was extravagant in space and was used daily and enjoyed by all of us. The kids had a ball. I could not have wished for anytihing better or different.
On a personal side note, I have to extend my special thanks to Irene, who when she learned during our dinner that my wife's brother was taken seriously ill back in the USA, she volunteered to drive with me back and forth to the Rome airport that following morning to put my wife on the next plane back to be with her brother. Her kindness and much appreciated help brings a tear to my eye.
I know you will love the Villa Il Doccio and Irene and her family should you be lucky enough to visit there.

We all have different ideas of what a "Tuscany Villa" should be. Mine was realized at Villa Il Doccio. We had 6 couples and the entire Villa. I absolutely loved the off the beaten path location and the family who hosted us. The first night "cook with the family" dinner was one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Italy -4 days at the Villa. The accommodations were wonderful and clean. The location was excellent - central to Florence, Cortona, Arezzo, Sienna, Montepulciano, Greve in Chianti, etc. When we come back to central Tuscany, we will stay here again. The Gren family gets 5 stars.

We had a very pleasant stay at Podere il Doccio. When we arrived we first wondered if we were at the right place. But going downhill brought us exactly where we wanted to be. The accommodation was everything we wished for. Basic, but clean. Quiet, but close to the village. One of the highlights was definitely the cooking lesson. A great diner with a great family. There were 9 kids in our company, from age 1 till age 16, they had a great vacation. What we really appreciated was the hospitality of the family Gren; they helped us out with every question we had, had the best tips for dinner, great pasta and the best ice cream at a unique location and were always very friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at Il Doccio. It was everything we hoped for and more.We were a party of 15 ,three families, and we found it was the perfect place to combine times together and quieter times on our own. The accommodation was traditionally Italian and spotlessly clean. The pool was a great size and used daily by all.The setting was beautiful and the owners very helpful .We especially enjoyed the cooking lesson and meal afterwards. There are lots of places to visit in the area for a truly authentic Italian experience.I would highly recommend Il Doccio to families or large groups.

Irene and her brother, Eduardo, were extraordinary hosts. They were gracious, extremely attentive to our comfort, and made our week at Il Doccio memorable. We were there on our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our family. We were 20 in all, and they made the occasion joyous beyond our expectations. Our hosts, Il Doccio and the Tuscan countryside will bring us back. The house/villa was rustic, but comfortable. To a person, every one one of the 20 of us want to come back to Il Doccio and see Irene and Eduardo again.

Il Doccio was the perfect place for our group of 11 people which included three children under 9 and two teenagers. The facility was very clean and the 16 rooms (7 BR/BA) gave everyone their own space the verandas and dining rooms were large enough where we could easily gather. We spent most days touring Florence (by train), Siena and the Chianti region (by car)and usually returned by early evening. During our stay the temperatures were 90-100F and the spotless pool was a very welcome oasis especially for the younger children when we returned from our day of touring. We highly recommend having a dinner with the family they are very gracious hosts, the dinner is casual and relaxing and Marina is an excellent cook, her Tuscan meals were delicious. The rest of the villa owner's family speak good English and can provide valuable tips of the area. It was a wonderful vacation!

The Villia il Doccio was a phenomenal stay! Situated in a beautiful old 70 year old vineyard, a stream running by, pool, jacuzzi, tons of room for eating and enjoying life! We had 14 to 16 people and easily was enough room. The family was great (they live on the same property, but about 100 meters away). Very clean and beautiful house and surrounding land. We will come back!!

Il Doccio ideally situated for excrsions to Perugia, Siena,Florence, Arezzo and Chianti country. The facilities and owners Francesco, Marina and their family make you feel very welcome and the place has a family feel to it. There is a tranquility about the location which is enhanced by the surroundings. The wine, food, weather and people make this a great setting for a Tuscan Holiday under the sun.
