We enjoyed our stay

The flat was fine , we were there in January so the complex was very quiet ! Short walk to a beautiful beach ! Very handy shuttle bus into town !

We had a fantastic stay at Selina’s Golden Escape. The home is immaculate, well-maintained, and perfectly situated for easy taxi access to and from Santa Maria. We thoroughly enjoyed the shared pool and the well-kept resort grounds. The property itself is bright and airy, with three large balconies and plenty of windows that provide wonderful natural ventilation.The kitchen is fully equipped with everything a family needs, and the communication from Selina and her manager, Lizzie, was exceptional—their local tips made exploring the island a breeze. While the property is near the desalination plant and a nearby resort, resulting in some ambient noise, it didn’t detract from our enjoyment of a shorter stay.

Excellent Apartment

The two good sized bedrooms and large kitchen/dining area&lounge are very spacious. The apartment has three balconies,the largest which is accessed via the lounge overlookes the pool area and is an all day 'sun trap'.I would definitely recommend this apartment.

Large open plan kitchen/diner/lounge with double access to large balcony, view to the pool. The pics online make it seem compact, however it is a great size. Fully equipped kitchen with pretty much everything required to make a meal. Large bedrooms , master with ensuite & access to another balcony. The mattresses let it down for our liking, too hard/lumpy. Was plenty of hot water.Very convenient supermarket just a minutes walk away. Not a lot else going on at the Vila Verde resort, maybe it was low season at end of November, however there is a restaurant & 1 or 2 bars within 5 min walk which were not open. Santa Maria centre was an half hour walk away or free shuttle bus or a taxi was only 5, where all the usual beach resort amenities were available. Lots of restaurants & bars. The beaches are clean & beautiful. Bikini beach was nearest to the apartment, approx 15min walk. Fab, interesting place for a Winter sun holiday, was our 1st visit , would go again. Good communication with owner & helpful onsite managers.

Excellent Spacious Apartment

The apartment was very clean and spacious and was very well equipped. The air conditioning wasn’t working but we were pre warned of this before we arrived. There were a couple of other small issues on arrival but these were sorted straight away. The communication with the owner Gaynor was excellent and we were provided with lots of information about local restaurants, bars, excursions etc. Our only real issue (and why we haven’t scored a 5 star) was the processing plant nearby which at times, the generator was quite loud and produced fumes which stopped us relaxing on the balcony. This didn’t happen all the time, but when it did we had to shut all the windows and patio doors. For us it didn’t impact too much on our stay as we were out in town or at the beach nearly everyday. Overall though we had an enjoyable stay and thank you Gaynor for your excellent communications throughout!

Fin stor lejlighed med god udsigt

Der gik desværre nogle dage inden det hele virkede perfekt i lejligheden (ingen varmt vand, faner og vaskemaskinen fungerede ikke) Den lokale caretaker var ikke til megen hjælp, men ejeren Gaynor gjorde alt, hvad hun kunne og fik løst problemerne.
