Cabin was warm and cozy, filled with sun - had a nice deck to enjoy the outdoors - great location - just a block or so to downtown Tahoe City - which we really appreciated!
What a beautiful home and about 15 minutes to both Alpine and Palisades, as well as about 1.25 hours to Sierra ski mountains. We loved the walkability to downtown and dog park nearby.
My family enjoyed staying in Carol's cabin very much.
The cabin is updated and very clean. It is very comfortable and has a good layout. We enjoyed the easy walk to the beach and to Tahoe City. I would definitely stay here again.
Lovely home with all the amenities, great location
The house is modern and clean with lots of natural light. Kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfortable and the bathrooms updated. Great location, walkable to restaurants, shops, the lake and hiking trails. We had a very enjoyable three night stay.
We loved staying at Carrol's house in Tahoe City. The house has everything you need for a wonderful stay. It's walking distance to the lake and restaurants. We'll be returning.

Ellen is an excellent guest! Easy to communicate with. She was able to inform me of an area where the battery was low so I can prevent any problems in the future. They kept the house very nice. I would certainly rent to her again, any time.
We have stayed here several times and definitely plan to return to this chalet. Walkable to town and many trails. This chalet has all the amenities needed for a comfortable and fun stay.
This is a spacious yet cozy cabin with all the amenities you need, plus easy access by foot to trail and Tahoe City restaurants and shops.
We enjoyed our family holiday there and appreciated all the holiday decorations Carrol had put up.
Great location to walk to restaurants and the lake. Short drive to Palisades (long with traffic though). Love the fireplaces, the house warmed quickly and became cozy. Was great to be able to bring our dog.
Great space, and an amazing location. It was perfect for what we needed, and more spacious than the pictures made it seem. Our host communicated with us quickly and helped us when we needed it. Would book again!
Nice House, clean, with great access to Tahoe City
We stayed in the winter months with our two young kids. Had a lovely time. House was clean, well located, and it was an easy check-in and out process. No complaints.
We had a great family ski vacation at this chalet during epic snow. Snow removal in Tahoe City is impressive and well managed. Carrol was very accommodating with a change of plans to arrive ahead of the storm and very quick to respond to requests. Wonderful trip!
We really enjoyed our long weekend at this home in Tahoe City. The location was perfect; walking distance to restaurants, grocery store and the walking path around the lake. There is also a small dog park just at the end of the street which was great for our dog. The house is also less than 15 minutes away from Palisades mountain which was so convenient! The house was very comfortable and perfect for our group. We will definitely look to book again if we make another trip back to Tahoe!
This house is a gem. The location is the best, in a quiet residential street but walking distance to the town and Lake Tahoe! 15 min from Palisades. The house itself is very comfortable and spacious. Well equipped with everything you need! So many fun board games and a cozy fireplace. We had a great time!
This was my first trip to the Lake Tahoe area in the summer. I had never been to Tahoe City, but I will never stay anywhere else if I go back to Lake Tahoe in the summer. It is a quaint town of shops, restaurants and tourist activities all within a short walk from the house (which itself is quite lovely). And Tahoe City is nicely located in between gravity biking at NorthStar and hiking at Emerald Bay!
I stayed here with my wife, two young kids, mother, and aunt. We all were quite comfortable. The house was very clean and charming. Carrol is an amazing host with great communication. She even sent us a driveway cam video of a bear that walked through the first night we were there (the kids loved it!). The location can’t be beat at just a short and easy walk to shops, restaurants, lake trail, marina, and beach of Tahoe City. Highly recommend this home for family fun and amazing memories!
This Lake Tahoe Chalet was perfect for our family. It was a very short walk to town for shops, groceries, restaurants, and most importantly Lake Tahoe!* The house was very peaceful and quiet making our stay very relaxing.* It is very spacious, clean, and well appointed with everything necessary to make our stay comfortable.* The house stays remarkably cool and comfortable inside during the warmer days of July.* Our dogs loved sitting on the deck with us and going to the nearby dog park.* The garage was also a very nice touch with direct entry into the house, so no worries about bears.* Communication with our host Carrol was very helpful and timely. * We were very sad to leave, but we are already planning our next trip back!* Thanks to Carrol for opening her beautiful home to us for a wonderful vacation :)

It looked nice, until you walked in.
The fireplace in the Great Room never worked, it's broken. The direct tv didn't work, thank goodness we brought our roku. The furniture needs to be replaced you couldn't sit on it! The location was great easy to walk to the main drag and the beautiful lake and dog park. The house just needs some attention, it will be nice then.

I'm so sorry the renter didn't call for me to trouble shoot.I had responded to an email with a couple of ideas for trouble shooting and asked her to call me on my cell phone if she needed more help. I got no call. I arrived the day this renter left and found someone had changed a simple setting on the fireplace remote which turned off the igniter. All I had to do was click on it and it came on. The Direct TV was working fine when I got there, so I'm guessing this was another technical issue that I could have resolved on the phone.
I have been shopping for new couches.. It's really too bad she had the technical problem because her first note she to me said, "We just arrived, it's lovely".

Stayed 5 nights over Christmas week Family of 5 (all adults)The location of this property was convenient, but unfortunately the home did not fully meet our expectations for a holiday stay.Areas for improvement:•There was a leak from the living room window that left the dining area floor wet.•The living room window shade pull was broken, so the shade could not be opened.•The primary bedroom sheets were very thin and worn and could use replacement.•Only 5 bath towels were provided for 5 guests, with no extras available.•There was no usable first aid kit. Bandages under the sink were yellowed, dirty, and expired (some from 2017).•The pots and pans were heavily stained and difficult to use.•While the kitchen was advertised as fully stocked with spices, many appeared very old or expired (some dating back to 2003). The olive oil had visible chunks and was not usable.•The master bathroom shower had very low water pressure. In addition, the tub had very high ledges, making it difficult and potentially unsafe to get in and out.•Closets were filled with stored items, leaving limited space for guest use.•The carpet throughout the home was quite old and dark.•I experienced bug bites during the stay, which was concerning.Positives:•Easy walking distance to Wolfdale’s and Rosie’s Café.•Conveniently located in Tahoe City.Overall, the home would benefit from updates, better maintenance, and improved attention to cleanliness and safety.

I am so sorry this renter did not contact me about the leak. I would have sent a repair person immediately. If she had asked for more towels I would have directed her where to find them. If she had asked about te First Aide kit I would have told her where she could probably have found it. Renters do move things around. I had been the last person to close the blinds so I know the cord was not broken when they arrived . I’m sorry they did not want to own having broken it. I would have understood though I had just replaced it a month ago. I am certain if she experienced bugs it was from the dog she brought. Fleas do not live in Tahoe. I just bought 4 new sheets for the master bedroom last summer and I have always been complimented on my nice sheets so I don’t understand that comment. As for the fully stocked kitchen that refers to the many appliances, tools and dishes. It is expected that you bring your own food and spices. Many people have left spices and oil for others to use but that is their choice. As for the carpet it is not that old and I is kept very clean. I hope you check out the other reviews. In ten years this is the most unfair review I have ever received. Please look at how many top reviews the house has received. My ski buddies who are there frequently are shocked by this negative review. This came from someone who left such a mess my cleaners asked for extra money for the extra work to clean which they have only done once before
First of all the beds are comfortable, which is such a deal killer with so many other cabins. We loved all the small touches like the gas fireplace in the master, which was double-sided for the master bath as well. (On top of the major stone fireplace in the living room) Also, the individual reading lights on either side of the king bed came in handy. Completely decked out kitchen with everything you could want - even spices that you won’t have to run to the store for! If you have kids, this is great separation with the master downstairs and two more bedrooms upstairs with their own bath. Walking distance to everything in Tahoe City. Double bonus: our dog, he loved it too and spent much time taking sun baths on the ample deck. We’ll return!
Host was extremely responsive and helpful on technical house issues and fun things to do issues! Garage parking and snowplow was extremely beneficial due to huge snowstorm! Thanks!

My family bought our summer cabin on the property in 1958 and spent all our summers there. I couldn't bear to tear down the family cabin so I built Lake Tahoe Chalet in front of it. I'm a skier myself so I don't do longer than 3 week rentals in the winter. Now we enjoy views of the lake from the Chalet windows and still have the original cabin on site.
Why they chose this property
Lake Tahoe Chalet is only two blocks from the Tahoe City commons beach, restaurants and the Marina. It is two blocks from the Tahoe rim trail and one block from the Tahoe City golf course where you can cross country ski and sled in the winter and it is close to Homewood, Alpine and Squaw Valley and Northstar.
What makes this property unique
The beautiful rounded windows bring in light and warmth in summer and winter. It has two fireplaces, a wonderful deep bathtub with a fireplace in the master bedroom and bathroom. The lovely view alcove on the top floor has views of the golf course and mountains. Artistic stained glass work, quilt wall hangings and original art add to the decor. Front and back decks provide tables for morning sun and afternoon shade or sun.. It has a gas barbecue, a two car garage with a ping pong table and is filled with games, puzzles and books for all ages..
