Description
This beautifully furnished property is located just off the High Street in the beautiful coastal town of Aldeburgh and has its own parking. The cottage comprises of a large open plan living and dining area with patio doors leading to a secluded south facing courtyard garden. All four bedrooms sleep two guests and the cottage has three bathrooms with two showers.

A very comfortable cottage, well resourced, warm, and very well placed in Aldeburgh. Parking helpful, everything within a few moments walk. A good stay.

The weekend stay was excellent. We loved the rooms and where it is situated. The only one down side was the dishwasher didn’t clean properly it left a really horrible feel to the cups etc. not sure if it was over salt or under or no liquid. We were only there a couple of nights and mostly ate out so didn’t spoil fun.

Perfect location

A central location with everything on your doorstep and very quiet at the same time is not a usual combination but it is at Shell Cottage. Lovely clean house and well equipped with everything necessary for our stay. Thank you.

Family of seven spent five days. Can not fault anything in the house at all. Except not enough cereal bowls for seven or eight people...just three! But we coped. House is lovely. Hubby and I had the four poster bedroom and sleep was fab. No noise traveled through from other properties. On beach in three mins. High street 60 seconds.

Shell Cottage

Very well located in the centre of Aldeburgh, we didn't use the car at all as we had good walking weather and there are lots of great pub walks around here. A huge choice of places to eat within very easy walking distance. The teenagers enjoyed Jack Wills and Fat Face!!! The house itself is enormously clean and comfortable with plenty of space for two families, although not sure the downstairs bed would work for two adults. The only criticism is that the sitting area could do with another proper chair, if all 7 of us wanted to sit together someone had to sit in the very uncomfortable hard chair!!! In our quite comprehensive experience of self catering accommodation finding only one thing to criticize is pretty good!!!

We purchased Shell Cottage in January 2014 having fallen in love with Aldeburgh and the surrounding area.Shell Cottage is perfect for us as we are a family that loves the outdoors. With walking,cycling, golf, tennis, swimming and sailing on the doorstep there is something to do out side in every season. Aldeburgh also offers fantastic shops,cinema,restaurants and art galleries.As an artist I have spent a lot of time working in and around Aldeburgh. The changing light,sea views and beautiful countryside offer a never ending choice of subjects to paint.

Why they chose this property

While located just off the High Street Shell Cottage is protected from the noise and bustle of the main road.This means it is a few steps to the shops, pubs, restaurants and cinema while remaining free from high street peepers and traffic noise. It is very close to the sea and a car is not at all necessary as everything is in walking distance.

What makes this property unique

Shell Cottage has a wonderful courtyard garden which is South facing and perfect for outdoor entertaining or soaking up the sunshine. The large glass doors can be opened out to bring the outside in.
Unlike many Aldeburgh properties Shell Cottage has a very spacious feel with plenty of space to eat and relax in comfort. It also offers its own parking space outside the Cottage which makes everything very easy on the way in and out.
There is a constantly changing selection of my paintings on display. Should you wish to take one home a purchase may be organised!
