About this property

Serene and cozy beachfront villa on a white sandy beach, pool, AC and WiFi!

As you enter the property from the private gated garden area to the rear, you are greeted with a open floor plan living, dining, and kitchen looking straight out to the beach and ocean via an entire wall of full length sliding glass doors. This room allows fantastic views of the Caribbean sea. The living room is comfortably furnished and features a large flat screen TV with Satellite and DVD, plus stereo. There is dining space for 8 people with ocean views and a nice fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops.

Also on the ground floor, there is a guest bedroom furnished with 2 single beds and adjoining guest bathroom. There are sliding doors leading straight out from this bedroom onto the private terrace and beach beyond.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with king sized beds, plenty of closet space, nicely finished en suite bathrooms (ocean views from the shower!), and front and back terraces to give you both ocean and jungle views. There are sliding doors leading out to the ocean side terrace where you can relax on the cushioned seating and enjoy the view. This is also a lovely place to relax and watch the millions of stars in the Caribbean night sky.

In front of the villa is a shaded terrace, and a large private area of beach leading down towards the water. There are plenty of sun loungers, a shade palapa with sunken seating, and also a large outdoor dining table with seating for 8. Great for alfresco meals and beachfront cookouts!

To the rear of the villa, Serenity has ample off-street parking, and also a swimming pool.

Villa Serenity is also conveniently located within a short walk from the Grand Oasis all-inclusive resort and the Grand Bahia Principe resort where you can purchase day passes to use the resort facilities and entertainment. Bahia Principe Resort also has a shopping complex called Hacienda Dona Isabela which has gift shops, a bar, and an ATM machine. Villa Serenity is also a short walk from the new Riviera Maya Golf Course. Riviera Maya Golf Club is one of the most exciting golf courses here in the Riviera Maya. Spanning 223 acres and set within 717 acres of tropical rainforest, this course was designed by Robert Trent Jones II.

Relaxing vacation

Lovely staff and owners. Sargassum was a disappointment but you can’t predict that. Little ants wanted to be in food so put everything in containers! Beds were comfortable, pool adequate. View was outstanding. Secure and safe.

Awesome place

This property was the perfect setup and location for our family of five. The kids loved the pool, the attractions near by were fun, the ocean gorgeous, location was safe and hosts were great. We definitely fell in love with the place and can’t wait to return.

So the rotten egg smell pervaded everything, and we could not use the beach or swim in the ocean. It would be fantastic when there isn't a sea grass infestation.

Fantastic house and location

We’ve stayed in multiple homes in this small stretch of Akumal and this property is one of the best! Great experience in every way, from check in to daily interaction with the housekeeper, security, the beach, etc. We loved our time here and 100% recommend the property to anyone seeking to escape to a quiet little piece of paradise.

Amazing property and location!

LOVED our stay over the New Year at Villa Serenity. Gorgeous house, beach and the perfect amount of privacy. We walked to the bikini beach bar just a couple houses down almost daily. Great food and margs! Loved this house, the view and the water and highly recommend!

Excellent beach house!

The rooms are very spacious but the common areas are small but the patio its pretty big. The ocean is right there in your backyard, and the water its amazing !

Wonderful week on the beach

Villa serenity for our family of 6 perfectly. Private beach with life jackets, sand toys, and kayaks. Rita was so helpful in housekeeping and made us a delicious meal. Alejandro was available via text to answer questions and was a great resource for answering questions and booking excursions. Wonderful place by the ocean, yet away from the big resort feel.

Beautiful Beach

We enjoyed this place tremendously! Our concierge David was great! We had some delays in flights and he accommodated our changes. The beach was beautiful! We never left our area except to go to the Beached Bikini bar within walking distance. So relaxing! Will definitely be back!

Comfy Home, Right on the Beach!

Our family (my husband & I with our 3 teens) don’t a week in Akumal in July 2024 and loved it! We’d definitely return to this home and to Akumal. Pros: Good ac - cold and all over the home Books available - nice touch, my son read 3 that were provided Towels/linens - luxurious & plentiful Showers - roomy with great water pressure Purified water available Ely & Rita - made the stay so comfortable by keeping both indoors and outdoors clean and comfortable Big dining table - sat all five of us no problem Closets - roomy Beach/patio seating - plenty of seating at the table, on the patio and on the beach!

Beautiful relaxing property!!

We had amazing stay at the Villa Serenity. The owners have been very attentive to details. We loved having the housekeeping. It allowed us to really relax and enjoy. We felt very safe with the security that was provided. The gardener kept the grounds and beach beautiful. We loved the private pool... We used it much more than I thought we would. We hope to return again!!

Amazing!!!

Great house in a great location. Super private gated home with private security, daily cleaning, and on site maintenance. The house was big and spacious with amazing views of the private beach that leads you to the ocean. There is a pool onsite that was just for our use as well which made it that much more special. The house was fully stocked with everything you’d need. The location is about 20 to 30 minutes away from DT Playa del Carmen, or Tulum. If you’re looking for a lot to do I’d stay somewhere else, but if your looking to relax…this is the perfect place!

Relaxing and Great Spot!!

Home was beautiful! The location and beach access was amazing along with the people that the management company has come by the house daily were kind, helpful, and amazing! There's a bar down the beach that serves drinks and food which had a great bartender (Alex). Nightly, sea turtles would come up on the beach to leave their eggs! Amazing experience!! The only downside had nothing to do with the house, location, management company, or beach access. The only downside was mother nature which delivered very large amounts of seaweed.

This may have been an amazing property 25 years ago, but now for sure showing a lack of maintenance and up keep. Rusted out or broken ceiling fans no washer/dryer for a house that holds 6 adults. A kitchen with only a toaster oven. (But, please note that Rita the housekeeper was amazing and the home was cleaned every day with fresh towels and linens.)Please note that the “private” pool is shared by the 4 villas, and we had to move lounge chairs from the beach to the pool as there was no where to sit. If you are not comfortable renting a car, then this for sure is not a property for you. All properties in Mexico have some sort of security, but this was our first experience having a guard sit on our beach chairs from sunset to sunrise.Was staying on the beach amazing, it was, but it was no where near the an offset to what we expected for a 2700 one week stay. This last comment is not about the property, but something that all travelers considering the Quinta Roo area (Cancun and south) is Sargassum aka very tiny seaweeds that ends up in huge piles on the beach that rots and skinks like garbage on a hot from April to October. We had to deal with it in Playa del Carmen in June 2024 and this trip as well. It complete covers the coast line and there is no escaping the smell.

February 2020 Stay in Akumal

The house was fully equiped, very nicely upgraded and literally 100 steps from the back veranda to the ocean! The house/grounds/security staff were absolutely wonderful & a real luxury :) We loved the location - there's a big supermarket 15 minutes away by car and everything was easily accessible from the highway. Although Akumal was a little bit of a hike from the Cancun airport - once you're there, getting to Tulum or many of the cenotes were within a 1/2 hour drive. Our only complaint was that the living room couches weren't very comfortable - this is a very minor complaint since we spent most of our time either sleeping or outdoors & the beds and lounge chairs were exceptional!
