Lovely stay for a family occasion

We had a great time at this amazing house. It was an extremely hot week and we made full use of the gorgeous pool. Lovey venue for a big family get together of 16. Plenty of space and loved all the eating areas!

The pictures of the property don’t do the location justice. It is a very beautiful setting with amazing views. House is large enough to have 18 people in without being on top of each other. The only thing I would say is that the beds are quite small - having said that we were a bunch of rowers. Was a great place to spend a week rowing at World Masters

Un mas d’exception.

We were almost 30 but the property is big enough to be quiet. Rooms are big and confortable. As we experienced a very hot weather (37), air conditionner would be a plus. We were fully satisfied.

Fantastic vacation destination

Villa Can Tapies was amazing on so many levels. My choice of villa this time for our week long vacation for our group of 10 couples couldn’t have been any better. The villa was large enough for everyone to find a quiet space or to come together as a group which we did so many times in the main dining room, upstairs terrace or pool. The 3 kitchens also made it easy for meal preparation and food storage. Two washing machines also assisted greatly. The location was ideal, only a short distance into Banyoles for grocery shopping. We also did several day trips to Girona, the Costa Brava beaches and over the Pyrenees Mountains and into France for lunch. The villa was exceptionally clean on our arrival and we were met by the owner. He was most helpful especially assisting us to order a taxi on the last day. This villa far exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend it after spending a perfect week in the countryside.

We had an amazingly wonderful week here at Can Tapis. The villa had looked pretty amazing on the website but the reality surpassed all expectations. First of all the rooms with their ensuite bathroom facilities were very well fitted out and the beds were big and comfortable. Then the halls and rooms for dining and relaxation were splendid and spacious; the central one being really imposing with its huge oak beams and grand proportions. We felt quite royal! Then the terraces! They were wonderful! Three different ones and all offering magnificent views over the rolling countryside. Idyllic. Also perfect for breakfasts in the morning and gin and tonic in the evening.Then there were the games room and the swimming pool, both well equipped and clean. They were much used by young and old alike.Our host Josep and his mother Rosa were very kind and helpful throughout. The agent Charlie was swift and efficient in communication, and gave us invaluable information. Their local knowledge of restaurants and food outlets were a godsend.The kitchens were well equipped with utensils and crockery, though the coffee-makers could be updated.The greatest thing about the house was its marvellous character - so many nooks and crannies and surprising connections. We all loved it!Girona and the environs are beautiful and historic, with plenty to explore in its architecture and art. Plus things like the water park and the go-karting were huge attractions for the young. GREAT HOLIDAY!

Het is een enorm ruim en karakteristiek huis dat al generaties in bezit is van de familie van Joseph en Maria. Er zijn stenen gedateerd 1635-1685. In de keuken op de begane grond zie je nog de opvangbak voor de olijven, uitgehouwen in de rots. Olijfbomen die 450 tot 500 jaar oud zijn. De locatie is fantastisch. Boodschappen binnen 10-15 minuten. Leuke dorpjes, Girona, Figueras binnen 30 minuten. Costa Brava binnen 40 minuten.Wij waren met een groep van 23 personen: 10 volwassenen en 13 kinderen 6 weken-16 jaar. Zij hebben genoten van het zwembad en de speelkamer met tafeltennis, tafelvoetbal en biljart. Ook was er een klein voetbalveldje. Zelfs verstoppertje spelen was weer helemaal in.Alle kamers en badkamers bieden voldoende ruimte. Er is geen airco aanwezig maar op elke kamer staat een ventilater. Het sanitair is hier en daar toe aan een opknapbeurt.Wij werden ontvangen door Joseph en Maria bij hun huis La Torre ( na een bericht aan Joseph was hij er binnen 5 minuten) en door hun naar Can Tapis geleid. Joseph heeft ons rondgeleid door het gebouw. Er zijn drie volledig uitgeruste keukens in het gebouw. Wij hebben meestal de keuken op de eerste verdieping gebruikt waar ook nog een extra koelkast stond. De grote BBQ bij de ingang onder het afdak heeft meerdere malen zijn nut bewezen.Wat was het heerlijk om daar op het terras met dat prachtige uitzicht na te genieten met een lekkere Rioja.Ondanks een paar kleine minpuntjes vinden wij het verblijf vijf sterren waard!

Superbe maison avec le charme de l’authenticité.

Super séjour en famille dans cette très belle maison, très agréable, très bien équipée, avec du mobilier de qualité. La vue de la terrasse est magnifique ! Tout est très bien pensé. Le gérant est très disponible et répond à toutes nos questions. Je recommande !

Fab Family Get Together

The Villa is an old amazing converted farm building . It is huge and so much space . The pictures don’t do it justice. You wouldn’t have said there was 24 of us living together. Lots of spaces to cook and dine and so much equipment and diningware. Great fun in the pool. The location was brilliant. Rural yet so accessible to many different towns, activities and beaches and let’s not forget Girona. Great location for an evening at the lake for dinner or drinks . We had an unforgettable time together . Josep is great . Nearby if you need him or for him to help with recycling , cleaning the pool etc. we even had a full mid holiday clean. Charlie the manager has so much advice to share . Josep and Charlie have given us memories to cherish.

Great villa for msny guests

We were 26 friends staying here for holiday. Had a great time exploring the area, cooking food etc. The house was equipped with all basic things you need for cooking and there were plenty of space for us to hang out. Joseph the house owner was available whenever we needed. Had a great time.

Perfect in every way

We were 20 adults and three kids getting together for a family reunion. Can Tapis was so perfect for us it was amazing. The house is full of charm and history yet modernized in a thoughtful way. There are plenty of public and private areas, well equipped kitchens and grills, lots of en-suite bathrooms and a fantastic pool. The surrounding area is rural and beautiful yet interesting excursions are easily accessible by car. Charlie was very helpful before we arrived and Josep, the owner, was also very nice and responsive. We all hated to leave and look forward to going back!

wonderfull old historic House for many people

We had a wonderfull stay on Can Tapis, just outside Banyoles in Northern Catalonia. This historic House is so nice and clean. The House is updated and renovated so You can enjoy Family and Friends on this wonderfull Place. There are many Rooms which have ith own toilet and bathroom, there are 3 kitchens, and a large amount of Terrasses with possibilities for Barbecue and a interesting Playroom with tabletennis etc. There is also a large swimmingpool, where You can enjoy the Sun and swim. There are everything You need. The owners is so nice and friendly and help us fx. with Doctor Consultation. Banyoles Lake is a nice Lake, where You can swim and enjoy the Lake. And there a certain things to enjoy in the Surroundings Vulcano, old roman bridge and cities and not long from Can Tapis the Museum with the artist Dali in Figueres. We can ceartainly recommend Can Tapis to everyone who will like to have a vacantion with Family and Friends or maybe having a Weeding. It looks even better than the Pictures tell You.

Great house for large groups

We are a large group of friends (seven families, 34 people in total) and meet in the summer once every two year. It was not easy to find a large enouth house in the north of Spain for us, but luckily we found Can Tapis. It was really great for us: very spacious, large kitchens and living rooms, the gamesroom and the pool were fantastic for children and audults... everything was perfect. The location was also fantastic: quiet and peaceful and at the same time really close to most touristic attractions in the area. Last but not least, Charlie and the owner were very friendly and helpful. We will certainly come back to Can Tapis in the near future.
