About the host
Hosted by Helene
Hello! I have travelled extensively but the Landes department is still my favourite destination in the whole wide world. Truly. It is so authentic, unspoiled and relatively unknown. There is no fuss. There is no artifice. Life over there is uncomplicated and revolves around simple but essential values. You are surrounded by everything that you can possibly need plus the tranquility and sense of balance that nature wraps around your mind.
I hope you like my home because through it, I would love to welcome you into my world of real family values and authentic living. Welcome!
Why they chose this property
Le Grand Lamarque is a typical period Maison de Maître which oozes with rustic authenticity and country character. It appeals to families with a passion for French traditions in search for genuine style combined with good facilities.
The property is situated in a village and while this allows you to benefit from the peace and quiet of such a location, you are also next to all amenities within a few minutes drive.
This villa welcomes guests throughout the year: experiencing Christmas in this warm home has an old fashion touch of magic while the summer offers pure indulgence and rest. Easter is known to have impredictable temperatures but the egg hunts are delightful. The autumn period is colourful and romantic and can be split between exploring the region and creating unforgettable family memories.
You can do as much or as little as you want as the region abounds in activities especially if you enjoy physical challenges.
Day trips to the beach are excellent as you get the best of both worlds: you embrace the atmosphere of the busy sea resorts but come back to the quietness of your spacious home.
It is a pure paradise for adult guests as they are able to have parties around the pool until reasonable times (set by law) in the evening and under adult supervision. The nearby Olympic swimming pool can provide hours of fun at extremely low prices while parents play golf across the road.
Fresh croissants and pains au chocolat (called chocolatines in the region!) are available from numerous patisseries in the nearby town in less than 5 minutes by car.
All supermarkets and restaurants are within a similar distance, placing the property in a very convenient location.
The property is situated in farmland with occasional slow tractors driving past and natural fertilizers used sometimes.
What makes this property unique
To me, the location of this property makes it one of its best features. It is a place which enables you to take a step back in order to reconnect with family values, nature and "real France" while not feeling isolated. It is my personal hidden treasure!
