Craig Alvah Lodge sets the standard, appointed with stunning Poggen Pohl kitchen, Villeroy and Boch and Lauren Allessi bathroom fittings. Floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen brings the outside in.

No stone was left unturned in the quest to create luxurious self-catering holiday accommodation. It sits in a unique location above the Bridge of Alvah and the famous gorge of the River Deveron. The property is secluded and remote yet only 2 miles from Banff on Scotland’s stunning Moray Firth coastline. It’s surrounded by beautiful woodland and countryside as far as the eye can see.

Picturesque and remote, the grounds are spectacular where you’ll find football goals, sunken trampoline and an incredible Rainbow systems play frame. There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained, and that’s before you explore the surrounding woodland which is home to red squirrels, rabbits, roe deer, woodpeckers, pine marten and more. Beautiful woodland and riverside walks start right from the door.

For indoor entertainment, there’s a Sonos sound system, table tennis table and pool table, 2 Sky TV boxes with full Sky package.

Superb venue for our family birthday celebration

This is a super venue for a large family event, with everything provided we needed and facilities for all ages except the very elderly The pool was an absolute hit with our grandchildren, and providing pool towels and an airer is such a bonus

Great stay with the family .The swimming pool was a great hit with the grandchildren and the games room was great especially the log fire.Some of the seating was sinking a bit and a few of the furnishings looked tired but overall enjoyed our stay.

Great, spacious house for a family celebration!

Had a great long weekend at Craig Alvah for a family celebration. The house is very large with plenty of room for everyone. Beds and bedding are very comfy. Plenty of towels are supplied. The pool is great and nice and warm, the kids loved it. I would definitely recommend!

Family gathering weekend

Chidren loved the swimming pool and outdoor space. Adults also enjoyed the large garden for football and relaxing. Table tennis and pool were played every day. Lots of nice walks on the doorstep and lovely beaches nearby. An excellent holiday retreat. Everyone sad at going home.This has been our second visit to this house.Very lucky both times with amazing weather.

Craig Alvah Lodge

Amazing house and facilities for our family of 8 adults and 5 children aged from 2 to 10 years. Everyone loved the indoor swimming pool snooker and table tennis. The children enjoyed the outdoor facilities. The nice weather was a bonus with lots of lovely walks. The facilities in the house were first class and I would highly recommend this property. Hopefully we will return for another family get together.

Beautiful house and grounds, most spectacular views and very private.Has everything you need there. The house is well maintained and clean with all the essentials you need. The only thing you need is some citrus candles in the garden on the night to repel the nats. Beautiful little town few minutes away. The only downside was we didnt have a nice experience with the Tesco staff they were very rude and unfriendly, apart from that we had a lovely family hoilday would definitely recommend!

Family Birthday treat

We had a magic time at the lodge we would highly recommend this place.The moment you open the door it was a WoW feeling!Big open spaces and lovely rooms all very bright and fresh.Excellent facilities too especially the swimming pool /pool table / table tennis and beautiful Large Garden with large swing set and Trampoline and a set of Goals,great fun for the kids.Lovely walks and very peaceful too.We all had a ball the week we was there can't wait to go back again.Thank you .

Amazing lodge

Absolutely loved our stay at the lodge, kids loved the swimming pool and spent do many hours in it. Games room was good too, but we could not find the table tennis bats unfortunately. The location was rural, but 10 minutes in the car into town. We honestly could not fault the lodge fully equipped with everything you need, toilet roll, soap, cloths the lot, The grounds were beautiful too. We had a lovely dinner and the Fife Hotel and also Banff springs, would def recommend both, the Chinese in the town Hapoy Palace I think was called was amazing too, there is a small Tesco also in town. We will definitely be back, def recommend this lodge!

Great Stay

Having stayed at the Craig Alvah Lodge a few times now over the past years, I feel that there are several areas in which need updating. Some kitchen appliances ie Oven, fridge, freezer but especially the hob. We found it took quite a bit of time to cook meals etc.. It is a lovely house and the swimming pool is amazing and checked everyday by the owner.

Lovely house in beautiful location

We all enjoyed our stay for our Dad's 70th Birthday. The pool was used constantly! The house was very clean, well equipped and beds comfortable. The grounds and surrounding areas to the property are beautiful. Alan, the host was good at communicating and replied very quickly to any queries I had. My only gripe, which didn't detract from the stay at all, would be plastic cups for the pool area and maybe some pictures and ornaments throughout the house to make it feel more homely. Thank you for a great stay!

Excellent family stay at Craig Alvah

We had a great family stay at Craig Alvah. Every body enjoyed the swimming pool but the kids loved it. The bedrooms were all very comfortable. Absolutely everything had been thought about. The only things you need to take is your food and drink/juice. Plenty dishes, cutlery etc. The weather wasn’t the best for our weekend but we did manage to sit outside and enjoy the garden. The kids loved the trampoline and the play park. We all managed a game of football and got very good use of the pool table and table tennis table. We all enjoyed it so much we have rebooked to go back again next year.

Very special place to stay

Craig Alvah Lodge is a very special place to stay, we visited the Lodge as a family group of 8 adults and 2 children. The luxurious Lodge was immaculate, superbly equipped and has massive amounts of space with super large bedrooms with enquires. The open plan kitchen with massive island has absolutely everything you need. The large lounge had large sofas and eating area large tv, with separate dining room. The other lounge/ games room, had large sofa, relax chairs, pool table and ping pong. There is a heated indoor pool which was fantastic where lots of hours were spent, enjoyinh, fun games and swimming. There is beautiful large garden with fantastic scenery, with football nets and trampoline, with lots of patio seating and a gas bbq (superb). We all had a fantastic time making lots of wonderful memories and won't hesitate in returning in the future. Highly recommended.

Wonderful mid-week break

Fantastic property with beautiful surroundings. The pool was great and the kids loved it! There was so much to keep us entertained at the property we didn’t go anywhere else. We spent our break swimming, trampolining, had a table tennis tournament, enjoyed a barbecue, the list goes on. The beds were all very comfortable and the rooms are very spacious. One gripe would be that two of the double rooms could do with black out curtains. Overall we had an amazing break and we will be back.
