Tarhuna is a very nice house, and extremely well-equipped. The owner's notes and guides about how to operate things in the house and about the general area are very good indeed and very helpful.The garden is well-fenced for dogs/sheep, and the views are superb. And, needless to say, the scenery in this area is superb!I can 100% recommend the house to anyone who loves the countryside and is looking for a comfortable, modern house in a spectacular part of Scotland.

Great stay

We had one week in this wonderful house and enjoyed every minute. The area is stunning with a lot of beaches and walks to explore. We would love to come back!

Cottage did not disappoint, it was exactly as described. Cottage was well presented, very clean and spacious. Everything you might need was provided, absolutely fantastic. Location was perfect especially for watching the fantastic sunsets. Hoping to book again sometime in 2027. Despite a glitch with the car both Mark & Maria went above and beyond to help. Forbes was excellent in keeping contact when help was required. Highly recommend this property for a very relaxing holiday.

wild and wooly

Very peaceful location.

This house is very remote which was what we were looking for and it didn’t disappoint. With huge garden ideal if you have a dog. Everything you will need for your stay is provided. Only one thing that could be improved on is a larger tv but wasn’t a major issue. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Melvaig cottage

Very well equipped and comfortable accommodation with great views across to Skye on a clear day. Very peaceful location with sheep surrounding the cottage and a cuckoo in the distance. Highly recommend if you want a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Lovely comfortable home is a peaceful perfect location

Such a lovely house to stay at, if you like wildlife this area is fantastic, we've seen a heard of Red Deer only meters from the house and also seen Golden and White Tailed Sea Eagles on the road back to Gairloch. House is very well equipped with everything you could ever need, the addition of the log burner was a very welcome sight. I highly recommend this comfy, clean and well maintained property and will definitely return in the future.

A quiet location with stunning views across the sea.

A well positioned house 8 miles from the lovely village of Gairloch. Stunning views across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides and Skye. We had the most amazing sunsets. The house was well proportioned with a very well equipped kitchen. If you’re looking for a peaceful property with a beautiful enclosed garden for kids and/or dogs then consider this property.

Very spacious and well equipped accommodation with great view out to sea. The location was quite a long drive down a single track road from Gairloch which added quite a bit of time to doing anything. The hard floors everywhere were slippery for our elderly dog and we wished we had taken a few mats with us.

Great family home from home

Absolutely loved our holiday at Tarhuna The house is spacious and well equipped, The kitchen has everything you have at home, we even baked scones and bread while there. Comfy beds too, had the best nights sleep ever. The views are breathtaking, the garden is well secured with high fences all round, so no chance of our dog escaping. I really can’t recommend this property enough !! We have been to a lot of holiday rentals over the years and this one is up there at the top of the list.

Position and cleanliness perfect. Some of the nonstick saucepans condition dubious, badly chipped and for me not too healthy. Information on how to lock front door from the inside would be helpful. Also a mention of the wifi password in the handbook would be useful. I found it under the wifi box but if it was in the book it would have been helpful.Also, a dvd player would be nice. We did bring our own plus dvds (yes, some of us still use them, ) but unfortunately because it was mono it wasn’t incompatible. But otherwise a great cottage. And excellent value.

Lovely quiet property

Well presented with fantastic views. The property was very clean throughout and well equipped. Lots of parking and great views. The village itself is stunning, quietly tucked away about 10mins on the other side of Gairloch and great walks nearby. I’d suggest getting a food shop on route as the only local shop is a convenience store in nearby Gairloch but this was the appeal to us, quiet with some great walks and views, I’d happily stay here again. Highly recommend.

The home is beautifully presented and has absolutely everything you could possibly need while on holiday in the Western Highlands, With plenty of information on what you can see and where to go to fully appreciate all the beauty of the landscape and the amazing wild life.
