Secluded Setting Conveniently located close to downtown.

The Owl’s Nest is a secluded log sided cabin tucked away on 14 acres off of a private driveway surrounded by Forest Service. Conveniently located only 3.5 miles from Downtown Murphy where you can enjoy shopping, antiquing, restaurants/bars. There is plenty to do and see whether you are looking for a relaxing “get a way from it all” experience while sitting on the cabin deck overlooking the woods, enjoy a peaceful evening at the campfire or want to venture out and explore the area.

Hiking, fishing canoeing, mountain biking all within minutes of the cabin. Take a 30 minute drive to enjoy white water rafting on either the Ocoee or Nantahala River, zip lining, kayaking or horseback riding. Close to the John C. Campbell Folk school where you can enjoy concerts, take classes and attend the well known Fall Festival in October. Close to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, The Blue Ridge Scenic Parkway, Georgia Mountain Fair Grounds, Joyce Kilmer National Forest,The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, The Biltmore House and the Tail of the Dragon for the bikers. Located 5 miles from the Harrah's Valley River Casino. The Cabin is located within 2 hours of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Tennessee and 30 minute scenic drive to Blue Ridge, Georgia.

The Cabin has cell service, free Wifi, satellite tv an outdoor gas grill and outdoor campfire area. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and dinnerware. Linens and towels are provided. The owners reside on the property. Members of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.

This was the perfect little cabin setting for us - tucked away on its own crest, surrounded by woods. Amenities covered everything we could need. Loved the fire pit. Conveniently located to restaurants and groceries, while feeling secluded. Check in and check out simple. Janice was very responsive with any questions and they were wonderful hosts all the way around.

Cozy, peaceful cabin with everything you need! This was my second stay here and I will be back. Out in the woods with wildlife all around but also conveniently close to town and other towns. Easily accessible road and entry system. Great hosts!!

"We thoroughly enjoy staying in this cabin and are pleased to be returning for our second consecutive Thanksgiving. We appreciate the attention to detail demonstrated by the owner. The only drawback is the fire alarm's proximity to the oven, as it can be triggered by cooking activities. Nonetheless, it's a lovely little cabin."

The cabin was perfect. And that fold out couch is the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. Easy to understand and follow instructions on how to get in, temperature control and check out. Hot water on demand - no waiting for the shower or the sink to warm up. Cabin is very clean, kitchen is well equipped. We didn’t cook this trip but if I decide to be a vendor at the John C Campbell Fall Festival again next year, I’ll be back. Randy and Janice are very accommodating and easily accessible, although we had no problems during our stay. And these two old ladies felt safe there way back in the woods (we both used to camp when we were a lot younger). Thank you for sharing this wonderful little cabin with us. PS - there are quite a few really tasty restaurants near by. We had a different cuisine each night!

1 week at Owl's Nest

First off the place is awesome! We were at the Owl's Nest for 1 week with a trailer and a bike. There is not a lot of maneuvering space but we were able to make it work. The hosts are great! Really facilitated our stay. The cabin is cozy but we had everything we needed and more. Randy spreads feed almost every day so you are sure to see deer and turkey feeding where the fire pit is located. Cabin is secluded but the owners live down the street (out of view) in case you need anything. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will be going back....

Quiet setting, but close to everything

Cabin was cozy and well stocked. There was plenty of information about area restaurants and attractions, as well as instructions on using the AC, TV and washer/dryer. The hosts thought of everything. Would recommend this place to friends and family.

We came to Murphy in 1996 from Lake Mary, Florida, on vacation and fell in love with this mountain town and surrounding areas. We purchased a home while on vacation and 1 year later we decided to move here permanently. Our dream was to build a cabin on our property where others could come and enjoy the mountains.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is only 3.5 miles from town which is convenient for guests, however, the privacy and seclusion makes you feel like you are a million miles away.
